Description
5L-Avenue with 1-Way-Trolleybus (REMAKE)
This is a remake of the 5-Lane Avenue with 1-Way Trolleybus (old version), which can no longer be updated. The new version has some bug fixes and new connection points for the trolley wire to other trolleybus roads and future road projects. The network uses the "all-in-one" vanilla road texture, which many vanilla roads in the game also use. To save RAM, you should subscribe to the LSM-Mod. Note: Before you unsubscribe from the old road, please make sure that in old savegames the old version has been replaced with this new version. Otherwise it can happen that savegames break.

Unfortunately, an avenue with one-way trolleybus wires is missing in the game. This 5-lane avenue complements the trolleybus system perfectly. While cars are allowed to use all directions, trolleybuses can only use one direction.

Acknowledgments:
This network uses 3D basic and tunnel models from the NEXT2 Replacement Roads by Cylis and the original Netwerk Extensions Mod. All credits go to the creators of the mod. Without their work, this network would not have rendered tunnels. You are doing a great job. The Network Extensions 2 Mod (called Next2) you find here. The Next2 replacement roads by Cylis you find here.

You do not need to subscribe to the Network Extensions Mod or NEXT2 replacement roads to use this network.

Features:
  • Trolleybuses can use all lanes,
  • 100% Vanilla
  • Parking on the 2-lane side on all segments,
  • Bus and trolleybus stops possible on ground and elevated version
  • Rendered tunnels
  • Upgradable trees
  • Streetlights at intersections so they don't appear too dark (results may vary).

You need (for using)
  • DLC Sunset Harbor (for the trolleybus network)

Motivation for this network
Trolleybuses are seen in the game as a kind of tram. Trolleybuses (mostly) ignore directional arrows. In addition, the buses on the vanilla medium road (4-lanes) can use the outermost lane only. In the game it works quite well. But at crossings it can happen that the power poles on the bus lose contact with the wires. Wires at crossings are stretched straight and the power poles on the bus only have a maximum length. The curve angle also contributes to whether the trolleybus maintains contact with the overhead line.

In reality, trolleybuses behave quite differently: the buses sort themselves into intersections and are (not always) bound to one lane. This avenue picks up on this characteristic.

Tips for using:
(1) Build the roads first and then build lines.
(2) At intersections, the bus should turn from a three-lane side of the road to a two-lane side of the road (right-hand traffic).
(3) Stops should not be placed too close to intersections.
(4) 90° turns where the three-lane side of the road has the longest angle should be avoided.
(5) If nothing works: Use the lane connector tool in the TMPE mod.

If you like my addition, please give me a thumbs up :)

Have a nice day! :-)
