Bloodlust Trait

Description
Adds a new Bloodlust trait which makes killing affect your mood and extends character's bloodiness management.
Earn it by killing enough zombies in a short time period while being covered in blood.

Features
  • Body, clothing, and weapon bloodiness now directly affects you.
  • You can't live without a daily afternoon kill, especially when there is blood all over the place.
Gain boredom, stress, and unhappiness if hasn't killed for a while.
  • Killing is satisfying - even more when everything is covered in blood.
Reduce boredom, stress, cigar stress, and unhappiness when killing.
  • It's so much better to kill while bathing in blood!
Increase damage dealt based on how bloody you are.
  • Without killing, you don't care about how many zombies there are - you just want to kill.
You don't panic in a state of bloodlust.
  • Get that relief after a long no-killing break!
Your first kill after a while will be instant.
  • Everything is customizable with sandbox options.
I recommend using Change Sandbox Options (by Star) for changing sandbox options at any point in the game.
  • Bloodlust Trigger Addon
There is an addon by Glytch3r & Wattson that allows to manually trigger the bloodlust state, adds additional knife damage and makes the player's eyes red during bloodlust.

Earning The Trait
You must be bloody enough.
With default settings, for example, your whole body must be 100% bloody + a little more blood on the clothing or held weapon.

Killing in such bloody state will add bloody kills.
You have to achieve 300 bloody kills by default.

If you washed off the blood - you will lose 1 bloody kill every 10 minutes.
This includes time in your sleep, so 8 hours of sleep will subtract 48 bloody kills.

Balancing
The trait can only be earned by default.
You can also make it pickable by choosing one of the BloodlustTrait*Points submods with desired cost.
Current options are: +4 and +2 (Negative), 4, 6, and 8 points (Positive).

Compatibility
Bloodlust Trait should be compatible with any mod that adds bloodlust trait.

If you have any other trait mods that add bloodlust, you should enable BloodlustTraitCompatibility submod. This will remove other mod's versions of bloodlust from character creation, and will also convert their traits to my mod's version.
You might also want to disable the ability to earn bloodlust in other mods, so that there is only my way of earning it.

If you want to remove BloodlustTrait mod and convert my trait to other mod's bloodlust trait, you need to enable BloodlustTraitToOtherMods, enter the save and wait a bit. You should see a message indicating that the conversion is done (or just wait a minute), then you can safely remove my mod.

These mods are confirmed to be compatible:
- Dynamic Traits
- Evolving Traits World (ETW)
- Expanded Traits
Please let me know if there are any other mods that add bloodlust trait, I'll test them and add to this list.

Dynamic Traits
Inspired by bloodlust trait from Dynamic Traits mod.
The trait and moodle icon is theirs.

No, only kills that you perform while being fully covered in blood count.
You'll see text like "HELL YEAH!" when the Bloodlust trait is added.

If you want the kills to be counted regardless of how covered in blood you are, set "Bloodiness Threshold" sandbox setting to 0.
The required amount of kills can be set via "Kills Threshold" sandbox setting.
All sandbox settings have detailed in-game tooltips explaining what they do.

Anyway, is the workshop description misleading or haven't you read it?
Your two last comments are answered in the description.
Read "Balancing" and "Earning The Trait" sections.

> the submods aren't activating

You are probably trying to activate it on existing save?
To add any mod to existing save, you need to do it on the save itself.
See "Changing mods in an existing world" on the PZwiki:

ah i see, the submods aren't activating. Also when i was testing out the mod i spawned in 300 zombies and killed them. So afterwards i should have the trait right and then the next time im covered in blood it'll activate? I could of just overlooked the details if so my apologizes.

You have to be a not mentally stable person Mr. Author.

@Wattson
What exactly didn't work and how you expect it to work?
What submods (Besides main BloodlustTrait) do you have enabled?

I just tested it, the mod works.

Maybe the issue is that you don't have the Bloodlust trait on your character.
The mod is only activated once you have this trait.

By default, the Bloodlust trait cannot be added during character creation; It can only be earned by killing a specified amount of zombies in a short period of time while being fully covered in blood .

If you want to add the trait while creating your character, you'll need to also enable one of the submods, such as BloodlustTrait4Points, for example. With these submods, you can choose the cost of the trait during character creation.

After some tinkering i couldn't get bloodlust to work even on its own. Could be an issue on my side or maybe one of the updates broke your mod.

ok thank you.

@Wattson
That's awesome, thank you very much!

There were no Project Zomboid updates since Bloodlust Trait mod was made, so it should still be working as far as I tested.

So far one issue has been reported and resolved.
3 out of 32 ratings are negative for some reason, I haven't got the feedback sadly.
I also haven't yet had the time to play anything, so while I tested every function of this mod, I haven't actually played with it enough.

If you find any bugs, problems, inbalance, or unintended behavior, please tell me about it! Just comment here or make a discussion, I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Feel free to suggest features as well.

Just asking, does the blood lust mod still work? I recently did a mod communion for your mod.

@HATECRIMER Thanks for feedback,
the conversion messages will appear only once now, and I also made them more clear, as well as changed the mod's description.

There are two kinds of messages:
"Converted the Bloodlust trait" - appears when BloodlustTraitCompatibility is active and the common trait used by Dynamic Traits and Evolving Traits World mods is converted to the trait my mod adds.
"Converted the BloodlustTrait to Bloodlust" - appears when BloodlustTraitToOtherMods is active and my trait (added by this mod) is converted to the common trait used.
(These messages have been changed with the latest update)

Seems like you have the latter one, but I don't get why you would continuously use BloodlustTraitToOtherMods though? It's supposed that you turn it on just once before removing my mod.
I guess the description was misleading, sorry for bad English.
