Stored Research

설명
Description
This mod allows colonists to use the research bench with no project selected. Instead of contributing towards a specific project, the produced research points will be stored and can be used later to complete any other applicable research. You can disallow storing research on specific benches.

Once you do select a research project, if there are enough points stored to complete it, including progress already made, the research will be instantly completed.

If you want to use stored research on a project with bench or facility requirements (hi-tech research bench, multi-analyzer), only points acquired from such a bench can be used. This behavior can be disabled in mod settings.

Compatibility
Most mods that do not change the core mechanics of researching should be compatible with Stored Research. That includes research UI mods, even if they include research queuing.

Semi Random Research (Unofficial): compatible at Rimworld version 1.5.
Research Data: compatible.
Research Reinvented: compatible. The only way to store research is through research bench which will comply with some of the Theory category rules. Appropriate research speed multiplier will be applied, and disabling category entirely will disable storing research as well.

F.A.Q.
Q: Is it compatible with ResearchPal/Powl/etc.
A: See above.

Q: Can it be added/removed mid-save?
A: Yes, apart from log errors upon removal, there should be no side-effects from either adding or removing the mod from the existing save.

@Rell It is compatible with GrobmotoriGER's 1.5 port of Semi Random Research. I just have uploaded an update that adds stored research into SSR's research tab's progress bar, if that is what you were worried about.

Sorry if it's already been answered but does this work with semi random research?? It didn't seem to use the stored research at all for it so wasn't sure if that was just something I was doing or not

@m11kire I tried to replicate the error, but Advanced Mechanoids do not add a research maechanoid of their own. I, however, tried to fix the error nontheless, try using mod version 1.6.2. If it doesnt help, please specify which mods add a research mech.

I have a mod that adds a mech which can research, the behavior i'm getting is a repeating null reference error, logs for the error in above link.

Facing an issue with the Anomaly tab with this mod enabled, clicking on it turns the research tab black with only the progress bar on current research visible.

In fact, you still earn one research point for spending one working time, and those advanced anomaly research will not be unlocked just because you use basic research. I don't think this makes anomaly research easier, but it makes it easier for players to adjust the content of their work.

Thanks for the answer! For me it's just a tiny thing but I feel like it makes the research of anomaly-projects too easy. My pawns keep researching and store the research, even if I don't have all projects unlocked. I unlock a new one and can instantly research it with my stored knowledge.
You get what I mean?

@PaprikaRobin It is certanily possible, but I want to understand what is the reasoning behind wanting to disable storing knowledge? It will not prevent pawns from studiying entities, but it will make knowledge gathered lost if no Anomaly project is selected.
