Description
Vermintide Balance Manager (VBM) intends to streamline the process of playing modded difficulties like Deathwish and Onslaught (DwOns), as well as their derivatives.
Over the years, playing DwOns has evolved from a pair of mods to using a plethora of mods authored by multiple people with varying perspectives on design, balance, and difficulty. The modded difficulty community has flourished with all these options available, so VBM aims to centralise the management of these mods into a single framework. Doing so offers a reliable and autonomous means to control all these mods individually in-game.

Most mutators on the workshop struggle to properly turn themselves off, and switching between them can lead to compatibility issues with VBM addresses.

DwOns Rebalance is an included but optional game rebalance with a focus on maintaining continuity with Official Realm balance but with slight adjustments to make weapons and careers scale to Cataclysm 3 and Deathwish, with the idea of changing as little as possible.

VBM Key Features:
  • Control of difficulty and balance mods entirely through the Vermintide Mod Framework in-game menu (F4 on the keyboard)

  • All Balance mods can be enabled in the Vermintide mod launcher

  • Warnings displayed in chat when connecting to the lobby of another player with a mismatched balance mod

  • Deathwish and Onslaught mods can be set to automatically enable on game startup

  • Onslaught mods can be switched mid round. Upon switching, VBM returns the party to Taal’s Horn Keep and sets the difficulty to match the user’s setting

DwOns Rebalance Key Features:

  • Design ethos with a focus on limited deviation from the Official Realm, without(hopefully) introducing power creep.

  • Detailed weapon information is documented in this DPS calculator[docs.google.com]. A changelog is also being maintained here on this google doc[docs.google.com].

  • A document is available which details the design intent for weapon and talent changes.

  • Development is intended to be as transparent as possible. I can always be reached on the VT Modded discord (linked below).

VBM Quick Start Guide:

  • Place VBM Above any other balance mods in the launcher and leave other balance mods enabled in the Vermintide Launcher

  • In the Vermintide Mod Framework menu (F4 on the keyboard), select the balance mod you intend to run.

  • If you wish to play Onslaught Mutators, select the Onslaught mutator you intend to run.

  • Relaunch the game

  • (Optional) Star the mod so it appears at the top of the VMF menu

Come join the Vermintide Modded Community discord[discord.gg] to give feedback, report bugs, or simply find games!

If you are in the Oceanic or are adjacent to the Pacific Ocean I also suggest joining the OCE Modded Vermintide discord[discord.gg] to find games with people with appropriate ping!

Check out my mutator mod Dense Onslaught!. DRB is balanced with Dense Onslaught primarily in mind.

I was also encouraged by others to start a patreon/offer a place where people could support me finantially. I am rather squeamish about money related stuff but at the same time this has been asked more than once. If you would like to support me finantially you can do so on patreon here.[patreon.com]
