Chinook Valley (Vanilla Assets)

Description
Hi everyone! Thank you for clicking on my map Chinook Valley. This is my 3rd ever Cities Skylines map, and is by far my most ambitious map yet, as it took me around 100 hours to make. This map is 100% vanilla assets with no DLC required. Hope you all enjoy!

Map Description
Inspired by the Pacific Northwest, Chinook Valley is a grandiose valley surrounded by striking mountains. All mountains are hand drawn and unique to this map. The climate is supposed to be a rainy, cold, temperate climate, however with much fewer trees as I didn’t want to need the use of Tree Anarchy. The map features an extensive river system, meticulously detailed beaches, and a large bay perfect for cities ranging from 50,000 to 150,000. This map is named after Chinook Salmon, a native, and important fish in the PNW. They are known for its sheer power, to swim up the most daunting currents, as well as how it provides for the region.

Mods, Visuals, and DLC
As said prior this map is 100% vanilla assets, with no DLC required, no mods required, and will look perfectly fine with the base temperate theme. However, I do recommend using a combination of Generic Temperate 4k by giggly with the oil texture of Alps Dolomites by MrMiyagi. While you can use an 81 tile mod for this map, the majority of the buildable area is within the base game 25 tiles, and the outer portions of the map have less trees and bushes. This map does not make use of the Intersection marking tool. In screenshots I was using AD cloud replacer , as well as Sun Shafts.

Stats and Resources
  • 44% Buildable area
  • ¾ rail connection
  • ¾ Highway connection
  • ¾ Ship connection
  • ¾ Plane connection
  • 238,168 trees
  • 2,316 props
  • Lots of trees
  • Some farmland
  • Oil as snow (practically unusable)
  • Ore as mountain tops (practically unusable)

This map runs ok on my PC (i5 8600k, rx 580 8g); runs at 50 fps the majority of the time, with a few dips. Thank you to TheKumuCortwade on discord for the name idea, and the Cities: Skylines Map Maker discord for the support. If you find issues with the map, or have any tips for me down below, please let me know in the comments. Thank you for playing!

Lovely, gorgeous map, and I thank you greatly for keeping it vanilla-friendly. Been looking for a new map to play that doesn't require tons of new mods to open. Thank you.

This map is excellent. I've been playing it up to a population of 60,000 in a naturalistic way, and it's been great. I must admit I've added some extra resources -- farmland, oil and ore -- and I did end up dead-ending the train line in a fairly permanent way.
