Colonialism Subject Overhaul

One thing that has always fascinated me was the Age of Imperialism in our real world, and Paradox made a sort of attempt to feature this with the Emporium holding introduced by Overlord. However, I always found it lacking. So, I made this instead!


This mod adds a new subject type, called the Autonomous Colony. Autonomous Colonies are weakened in their advanced resource production, but receive a subsidy in their advanced resources to counteract it. However, they must pay basic taxes to their Overlord.

This mod also adds one new building and several new holdings, all of which are only available if you have an Autonomous Colony currently under your control. Most are self explanatory, however I will detail the ones that require a bit more thought.

The Imperial Museum building can be built on any of your worlds, and provides a minor amenity boost to the planet. However, where it truly shines is with the construction of Artifact Collection Outpost holdings across your subjects. For every built outpost, the Imperial Museum gains more power, however the opposite is true as well. If outposts are dismantled or destroyed, the Museum will lose buffs.

Due to the way subjects are structured in the game files, mods that add or effect subjects such as corsairmarks' excellent Mercatorum mod, are incompatible without a patch being made.
