History

Another brain child of a famous Kuat designer and engineer Walex Blissex. A fast and agile fighter that was to finally replace aging and expensive V-19 Torrent starfighters. Seeing a rather brief service with the Republic during it's last days, it did go on to serve as the main starfighter of the Galactic Empire for years to come, even being stationed aboard brand new Imperial I-class Star Destroyers. V-Wing was also the fighter of choice for many Republic and Imperial ace pilots, including such famous name as Shea Hublin. However, a rather high cost has eventually outweighed it's advantages, and it was replaced by the infamous TIE series of fighters. After that, Nimbus became very popular on the second-hand market among various pirate groups and syndicates, still serving in their fleets many years after the fall of the Empire.

Pros: low building cost, simplicity, ability to fly in atmosphere, pressurized cockpit, low silhouette, good TtWR and a decent supply of ammo.
Cons: lackluster armament and a rather abysmal operating range because of limited fuel tanks.
