How do I start the game?
Click where it says Sandbox in the bottom right, then select Nine Tenths in that list.

What is this?
This is the Nine Tenths gamemode ported directly from GMod 9 into GMod 13, with optional enhancements, as well as backwards compatibility with the Sourcemod and GMod 12 versions of the gamemode.

Nine Tenths is a team-based prop hording gamemode. Equipped with nothing but a Gravity Gun and a Crowbar, the aim is to have the most props in your team's base when the time runs out.

Nine Tenths was created by Garry Newman originally as a HL2 sourcemod separate from GMod, released in early 2005. It was updated twice before being discontinued and revived as a gamemode along with the release of GM9, albeit with only one of its previous 5 maps ported over.
It would remain in the game until the steam release, being cut along with most other gamemodes. There was an official GM10 port in existence at some point as shown on Garry's channel, but it is currently lost. An unofficial fan port designed for GM12's Fretta was later created by Nerdboy.

This version also features extensive mod support, including hooks for most events, integration into GMod's translation system[crwd.in], and backwards compatibility with every version of Nine Tenths currently available, including the ability to switch between the HUDs of all 3 versions. Each of the original maps have been recompiled with HDR support.

Included Maps
  • 910_legacy (by Garry Newman):
    Originally named gm_910, the original Nine Tenths map included with GMod 9.

  • 910_possession (by Richter Overtime):
    A remastered version of gm_910/910_legacy, made to look like modern gm_construct.

  • 910_grandtheftauto (by Garry Newman):
    From the sourcemod. Three cars in the middle must be brought to each team's platform. One team must hold all the cars for 15 seconds to win.

  • 910_smash (by Garry Newman):
    From the sourcemod. Players must enter the opposing base and destroy their crates.

  • 910_compound (by Andy Green):
    From the sourcemod. A gritty prop filled arena with huge base areas, grenade spawns for each side, and plenty of places to get props stuck.

  • 910_ctf (by Andy Green):
    Capture the F, not Capture the Flag.
    From the sourcemod. Each team has a pedestal with an F on top. One team must have both Fs on their pedestal for 15 seconds to win.

  • 910_scramble (by Nerdboy):
    The map included with the GM12 Fretta port.

  • 910_4land (by figardo):
    A showcase of the new 4-team support that this port provides.

Commands
CLIENT
  • 910_helpscreen:
    Show help text (bound to F1 by default).

  • 910_showteam:
    Change teams (bound to F2 by default).

  • 910_model (default ""):
    Set your preferred playermodel.

  • 910_hud (default 0):
    Set your preferred HUD design. (0 = Map Choice, 1 = Sourcemod, 2 = GM9, 3 = Fretta)

SERVER
  • 910_restartround:
    Trigger a round restart.

  • 910_shuffleteams:
    Force all players to select a new team.

  • 910_roundtime_seconds (default 300):
    Set the round timer in seconds.

  • 910_postround_time (default 7):
    Win screen duration.

  • 910_suddendeath (default 0):
    If one team holds all props, the timer will be shortened to 910_suddendeath_time.

  • 910_suddendeath_time (default 15):
    What the timer is set to upon sudden death.

  • 910_force_autoselect (default 0):
    Force new players to join the team with the lowest playercount, and fix team imbalance at the start of a new round.

  • 910_rounds (default 5):
    Requires MapVote. A mapvote will be called after this many rounds are played.

  • 910_proprespawn (default 0):
    GM12 behaviour. Replace all prop placements with props that spawn around the map every x seconds.

  • 910_proprespawn_time (default 2):
    If proprespawn is enabled, this is the delay between props respawning.

  • 910_weprespawn (default 20):
    When a weapon is picked up, it will respawn after this many seconds.

  • 910_largeprop (default 0):
    GM12 behaviour. Enable to give 2 points for collecting large props (dumpster, vending machine, etc.)

  • 910_coolfx (default 1):
    GM12 behaviour. Adds a particle effect when a prop is collected, which changes colour depending on the team.

  • 910_fastmovement (default 0):
    GM12 behaviour. Increase movement speed and disable sprinting.

  • 910_enablecrowbar (default 1):
    Give players a crowbar on spawn.

  • 910_enablepistol (default 0):
    Sourcemod b1.0 behaviour. Give players a pistol on spawn.

  • 910_buffdamage (default 1):
    Sourcemod behaviour. Increase damage of all hitscan guns by 2.5x.

Mappers

After installing the FGD above, use these entities to add 910 support to your map:
  • nten_teambase:
    The team base brush entity. Place over the area you want props to count for a certain team.

  • gmod_player_start:
    The spawnpoint entity. Set the flag for which team you want to spawn here.

  • nten_mapsettings:
    Allows you to change the gamemode settings on a per-map basis.

  • info_player_start:
    If present, spectators will spawn here instead of the map origin.

Be warned that languages with extra or non-latin characters may cause issues with the game's fonts.
