Description
The steel-driving freedman, John Henry, joins Heroes & Legends.

John Henry's tale is one of determination of human will. When a steam-powered drill threatened the livelihood of rail workers, John Henry rallied his fellow labourers to contest the machine. Both worked relentlessly to complete a rail tunnel, but the massive John Henry outperformed the machine which sputtered and broke down. Victorious against the industrial revolution itself, John Henry collapsed and died due to exhaustion.

Origins: America (The Virginias or Alabama), 1800s AD

STRUDELER'S HEROES: JOHN HENRY

FEATURES
  • Requires: RISE AND FALL, GATHERING STORM, and BABYLON.

    HERO: JOHN HENRY
  • Unique Ability - John Henry the Freedman: +5 Combat when escorting a unit and Movement is shared.
  • Unique Ability - John Henry's Steel-Driving: Produces 1 Iron per turn. Can retrofit Roads to become Steel-Driven Rails, a Railway that can be built without Steam Power.
  • Common Ability - Rugged: Ignores Movement penalties from Hills terrain.

    ROUTE: STEEL-DRIVEN RAIL
  • Must be built by John Henry. Requires 1 Iron to build. Must be built on top of an already existing route. Movement cost becomes 0.15.

COMPATIBILITY
  • Works with STRUDELER'S CIVILIZATION VI DELUXE.
  • Strudeler's Civilizations that have a unique Temple replacement (Delhi, Nasran) are compatible, granting the appropriate 15% discount when summoning John Henry again.

    If that's the case, @MosileZ, I think I will have to rework and scrap the unique rails. I'll probably replace the rails with a new unique mountain tunnel and the ability to build regular roads.

    I believe there's something going on in which i can't place down regular rails with military engineers over roads. I can still do so in unmodified land.

    In truth, I've been both busy and delayed, @RedRapture. Heroes take a tenth the time it take to make a civilization. However, new civilizations are my passion for modding. There are many heroes planned and many of those are tied to civilization expansions I have already announced/released. In particular, I want to release the Indian heroes soon.
