Description
This mod reverts all enemy encounters to their November 2017 versions.

In November of 2017, the Spire was different—the cards, the relics, the potions, and most importantly (to this mod), the enemies were different. Take a Slime Boss that doesn't shuffle in slimes, even though its spawn shuffle in wounds. Walk into a hallway node in act 2 and encounter the dreaded Slaver+Shelled Parasite. Fight an elite in act 3 and see a permanently intangible Nemesis with 32 health that can remove any of your buffs. Wait, what? What the Spire lacked for in balance, it more than made up for in charm and passion. Ancient Enemies is here to answer some of your questions about what old Slay the Spire used to be like, as well as some questions that no sane person ever had.

As the game did not release with ascensions, all enemies were ported directly as they were. The mod developers are working on optional ascension modifiers to each of the combats, sticking as closely as possible to the original design philosophy behind the enemies as well as the current base game ascension buffs when feasible.

This mod is the first in the series of Ancient Spire mods, the rest of which are to cover cards, relics, potions, shops, events, etc.
