Ventreian Class - Light Frigate

Hey folks I decided to publish this ship as I really liked the end result and it was very fun to build. I originally set myself a challenge to build a ship in around 40 Minutes and this was the result. I’ve debated whether or not to do some small touch ups but I mostly decided against it. The only thing I’ve done to it since was grouping up the systems, setting up the control stations, add few minor block changes and lastly shoehorned in some connectors.

As the build was progressing I quickly became enthralled by the idea of making it look and feel like a old and widely use ship, operated by much smaller nations that are far less developed in every way compared to the C.O.F.

My main comparison or rather disparity between this ship and a C.O.F equivalent would like the most modern MIG - 21 Jet to a F22, F35 or F18ex. Or if your a tank person maybe a M48-60 Patten or T55/54 or T62 Tank against the best and mast modern ERA and APS equipped Main Battle Tanks. [So basically quite the disparity by literal decades]

Lastly.
This ship is not really meant for or capable of large scale pvp or at least fight player ships any bigger than itself outside of roleplaying, if you are intent on fighting with it though id probably recommend fast and nimble, near hit and run attacks on larger or near peer NPC warships as it can work in that role if you are a very good or skilled pilot : p.

And while I didn't rly have any inspiration when making it, I did in the back of my mind want something like a CR-90 Corvette in Rebel service be with that thin frame, chunky engine blocks and being absolutely everywhere!


The Ventreian Class - Light Frigate is arguably one of humanities most well known and significant ship designs in it's history, with the longest service of any ship and continues to be in full production with an untold number of models and versions and serving in countless armed forces across the known galaxy.

The Ventreian likely owes much of it continuing service to its ease of use and production, cheap cost and an endless number of readily available spear and replacement parts with an unhealthy amount of upgrade packages.

Because of this the ship has found itself pushed into almost every role and every engagement, skirmish and war of the last three hundred years at least. This also means that it is often a first choice for mercenaries, brigands or pirates who see to plunder and fight. This is helped by the Ventreian's fast speed, large storage capacity and massive jump range due two its diminutive frame and light weight materials. Because of this the C.O.F has Seized approximately eight hundred and fifty of these ships and an untold number of spare parts, with the number only growing as piracy is on the rise following the end of the Hive Dominion War despite the continued deployment of six of the seven main fleets and countless numbers of smaller patrols and battlegroups. With many other nations both friendly and hostile trying to do the same and protect there own territory to.

On the flip side however these qualities also make it perfect for peacekeeping, patrols, escort duty, sector or planetary defence forces and much more.
Like this Ventreian Class here is called the Ardent Ventura FFG - 09 and belong to the Treldan Naval Defence Force and partook in serval major engagements with the Coalitions 4th Battlegroup in defence of there Nomadic Capital station and several mobile refinery convoys. She earned 8 TNDF Battle-merits and 2 Coalition Battlestars First Class and 3 Second Class.
