All of Black Ops Cold War's Updates are listed here for everyone to see and are timestamped and documented in the Update Timestamp section. This is a Call of Duty game after all so you'll come across just your typical normal hackers sometimes Aimbotters, Ximers, Softlockers, Wallhackers and Spinbotters. But these last couple 4 months of 2023 and going into 2024 the server have been extremely laggy and sometimes pause and say "Connection Interrupted" in 1 out of 5 multiplayer games for extended periods of time up to a max of 10 sec ingame (ruined multiple streaks because of this issue) but that seems to be an Activision server issue hopefully. People only now seem to play Nuketown 24/7, finding 24/7 games is really easy that's probably why everyone plays only Nuketown 24/7 because its the only small map on infinitely but that where I seem to find some of these hackers, cheaters and sweats mostly. This game is riddled with people just using the Tec-9 and LC-10 and thats all they use so thats super annoying taking the fun out of most games I have because those 2 guns take 0 skill to use same with thermal scope LMG users who sit at the back of the map all game but what can you do but the game is playable 100%.

Wanting to spread awareness of the games state as of Mid 2023 (Section patched but here for documentation)

Safety and looking out for us players, multiplayer: As of the recent @CharlieINTEL's tweet on Cold War's initial state still at the moment and its safety issue of IP grabbing and forced game crashing while in-game in public lobbies https://twitter.com/charlieINTEL/status/1663682065802428416 I recommend you DO NOT PLAY MULTIPLAYER until a patch for this issue is resolved.

Other Multiplayer Notes: You can still play with bots and have custom games with friends so don't worry about that.

Zombies: Zombies is fine but I recommend playing not playing publicly with randoms to avoid potential hackers and only as a Duo or Solo and setting your party type as Friends Only!.

Campaign: You can play the campaign with no issues or worries of hackers as it single player so you shouldn't have any issues there.

Frequently asked questions as of 23/6/23

"can i use a vpn to play mulitplayer?", Answer: yes you can but expect more lag and packet loss to effect game play. VPNs can stop hackers from grabbing your IP by setting them up with a different one rather then your actual one but that wont stop any sort of forced crash exploit they decide to use.

"Is there any risk if I play connected to the internet but only play single player on zombies?", Answer: if you have your party type on closed or on 1 person or both no there isn't.

"so I can play zombies, just offline?", Answer: Yes you can.

"ive heard account login information and bank details can be stolen by cheaters, what is the validity of this?", Answer: I cannot confirm this of stealing login information but if they do steal your IP Address they have your COD ID and I can't confirm the stealing of bank information however if a bigger issue was discovered to come to light Example: hackers able to plant backdoor access to your PC (NOT AN ACTUAL ISSUE IN THE GAME THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE) then that will be a very serious issue and lead to possible stealing of actual private information stored on your PC such as passwords, cookies and banking details.

"Is Modern Warfare 2019 safe?", Answer: I don't play MW2019 but its filled with hackers who aimbot through walls so it basically unplayable in my opinion.

"apparently the 5 gb update today fixed the ip grabbing and crash tools etc is that true?" Answer: I cannot confirm if it did because its only so recent and not much is out about it but id assume since that this was the thing everyone was addressing to get fixed it might have been patched (im not 100% sure but hopefully it did and covered other issues too).

"is it safe to play mp after this patch?" Answer: Id say yeah it is after this issue was supposedly fixed today. I've been playing even before this issue was discovered (See below of my experience before and during the security crisis) but still watch for anything that maybe an issue.
