AMES type 80 Radar

The Early Cold war Era AMES type 80 radar was a ground interception and early warning radar system, designed in Britain to defend the British isles against soviet bombers, recognisable by its enormous rotating reflector dish, it served from the early 1950's into the late 1960's when it slowly became obsolete as bombers were being replaced by ICBM's as the primary strike force.
