Terrain effects

Description
With this mod the units stats (morale, speed, melee atack and defence, etc.) are influenced by the 12 types of terrain (shallow water, forest, thicket, mud, grass, etc.) so there are a total of 87 effects that can influence the battle's fate.

You can see the terrain type and its effects by hovering the mouse pointer over the ground, when no unit is selected.

Mod Compatibility:

It should be compatible with any other mod, including the overhauls.

im looking for somnething that makes terrain effects more like medieval 2 were ranged units recieved a large range buff from being uphil it made holding the hill feel and terrain in general feel alot more important. any chance this mod does that?

@ -=JF=-: It is not a bonus against cavalry, is a 0.85 multiplier so they are less effective against them. Also in roads cavalry has a 1.25 speed and charge bonus (shown as 125% in the stats).

@ tribuneoftheplebs: It is a hidden bonus for long weapons like lance that is not activated by default, probably I'll add it in a next update. If you hover the mouse in the stats you'll see a short description.

@ Brugarolas: I give you permission but remember to give credit.

I like the idea, needs some balance though, I had my cavalry getting destroyed in melee against some bowmen because the terrain end up being road, giving it the bonus against cavalry 85%

Interesting mod. What does the "first strike" modifier do?

This is a great idea that, with your permission, I'd like to add to a Radious Overhaul I'm making. But don't you think modifiers are too harsh?
