thank you for the feedback.
The lack of sanity potions comes from the fact that the main Amnesia story didn't have them as well and the player should not look at the monsters but rather try to gain sanity through progress.
Should someone loose a lot of sanity, parts of the mod behaves in a different way - spiders on the wall, more disturbing scenes.
When it comes to the final battle, Niklas should be mentally broken enough to warrant having less than 100% sanity and looking at the final boss will completely break him, so focusing on getting the objective items is the safe way to go.
Thanks for playing, it's always great to read the insight from someone who experienced it in a different way than me, Swankest and Sabatu imagined during the development.
but you definitely know what you are doing when it comes to creating mods
if you have any other mods that are on mod db feel free to port them to steam workshop
would love to give them a try
however i have some very big criticisms that brought my high rating for this down
namely for the final boss
1: the dude tends to camp a lot using his teleports which make it very difficult to climb the ladders and search for the levers
2: no sanity potions
this wasn't a issue at first
however when getting to the boss battle the game categorizes him as a monster and since we constantly have to stare at him and not to mention the game itself not restoring to full sanity it makes it even harder
3: this is my biggest one
barely any laudanum
now i know you get a lot by exploring and finding the hidden notes and Easter eggs
however first times players like myself won't find all of them so at the end i only had like two
having most of the health be accessible through hidden notes is honestly not a good design choice
i was able to fix it by closing the game itself and going back in
I'll try to reproduce it. Did it happen to you on a specific map or does it happen randomly?
but there's a bug where if you reload a previous save all notes and mementos and interactions become bugged
meaning i can't read notes
can't look at mementos for help
and interactions can;t be looked at
would like a fix for this please
