Description

While the north of India was progressively conqured by invading Islamic armies and a series of sultanates, the expanses of the Deccan Plateau to the south was far beyond the reach of any muslim ruler - for this was the realm of the Vijanagara Empire. For centuries, the powerful Hindu Emperors of Vijayanagra ruled over a land renowned for its architecutre and military prowess, with the remnants continuing to inspire to this day.
