Black Mesa: Essential Single-Player Mods
51 items
Description
- Brief Overview -
This mod aims to address several issues with Black Mesa's user interface and restore/add features to the UI.

- Highlights -
• Extended the selectable maximum field-of-view range from 90 to 120.

• Added proper closed caption font scaling, similar to the font scaling in Black Mesa: Blue Shift.

• Added new options to the "Game" and "Video" menu tabs and restored the "Sticky Iron-Sights" toggle.

• Re-made the Earthbound chapter background images and all OldGameUI chapter select images.

• Integrated various community-made fixes for the legacy VGUI. NOTE: The primary focus of this mod is to fix issues found in the new Black Mesa UI and the mod's support for the old UI is fairly limited.

• And much more - be sure to visit the "Change Notes" tab for the full list of UI changes that this mod makes.

- How to Install -
To install the mod, you will first need to press the big "Subscribe" button - this will download the mod's files. Once you have done that, you will need to open the mod's main folder (located at Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/362890/2976282754), extract the main .vpk file in the folder and put the file into Black Mesa's "custom" folder.

Have fun!

Just adding that the fix with version 1.22 (fixing the missing joystick parameters for the old UI) seemed to make the titles of the joystick parameters disappear in the new UI. That, or it's something else.

yeah please :)

@Phantron Currently, the mod only has English language support. I may look into multi-language support for the next major release.

@IDKFA is this multi language compatible? you didnt answer 4 weeks ago

Alright, it looks like everything is fine now. Just to be sure, every new option that was added in the latest update is here together with this mod?

UPDATE: Release 1.21 is live, and should be now fully compatible with the Necro Patch.

Good to hear! Sorry if it seemed like I was yelling at you to fix it or something, just knew people were going to ask about it and figured I'd leave a note about it. :bigjohn:

@Non-Employee @Zorgλ I'm aware of the issue and I'm currently working on a hotfix that should hopefully resolve it. The fix should be out later today - I'll make a new comment when it's out.

Needs to get updated after the latest BM update

Note to anyone who may see this: The update has come out, and now this mod no longer works and needs to be updated.
