JDL&E "Tipsy" Diesel Mechanical Switcher

Tipsy is a small, efficient yard switcher, powered by an 8 cylinder supercharged engine with a diesel-mechanical drivetrain.

-Turn the crank on the front right side until the “engine on” indicator is shown
- Unlatch the cab door on the left side, use the handle to open the door
- Turn on lights as needed via cab controls
- Flip the “cut-in” switch on the left driver panel
- apply throttle as needed

- To stop the engine, flip either the “E-stop” or “engine stop” switches on the left and right sides respectively until the “engine on” indicator on the right side is off.
- Use low gear for heavy loads, especially when getting up to speed
- Do not flip the “Reverse” switch until Locomotive is at a standstill
- the automatic brake applied brakes on all WABSIM cars connected to the switcher
- the independent brake applies brakes only to the locomotive
