AI Raptor Pet [DragoF1sh]

Description
This is a fully autonomous pet raptor that works in Space Engineers!

It requires 0 mods and even works in survival!

It will follow you up to 2.5km away and will even climb small hills to reach you!

Here is how to use it:

Press the imprint button, then walk away and it will follow you.
Press the follow button to make it stop following you.

Feed it uranium at the tail to power it. The vent will become blue when it is fully powered.

You can walk up to it to pet it. It will lower its head to you.

You can attach stuff to it to give it extra functionality - make it haul cargo, carry an ore detector, or even mount a turret on it. It will follow you and help with any small planetary task.

If it falls over, it has a system to automatically get it back on its feet! It can climb slopes up to 30 degrees, making it perfect for planetary use!

OHHHH you mean advanced walkers? its just that you make AW2's pb's display an artificial horizon and it confuses me

I have a tutorial for the script on my youtube channel. it basically makes mechs in space engineers very simple and easy (it will automatically make the walk cycle if you name all the joints and has a bunch of features for tuning and other cool mech related stuff)

I don't remember them ever having a thruster, but they do have vents. The script they use for walking will use thrusters for dampeners and keep them off at all times, and even then the thruster would only activate if you piloted it and pressed space (The script assumes all thrusters are jump jets).

but what about the script? you seem to include it on all of your mechs and i have not a single clue why.

yup. thats about it. the same system should work for rovers too

i saw a thruster flame in the vid which was interesting

good to see you drago! yes it does.

in laymans terms, though, basically, its just: event controller sees its too low, activates gyro override and spin

The stabilization works by detecting if the grid is beneath a certain height. AI blocks will automatically try to level with gravity during movement, but can't override gyros too much. To solve this, I used an event controller to detect when it falls below the height of the raptor standing. When the raptor falls on its side or its back, the event controller is lower to the ground and activates a gyro's override feature. When the raptor is up, the event controller is no longer too close to the ground and disables the gyro override. The override is carefully set so it does not spin the raptor so fast that it falls over again - it spins just enough that it gets up and doesnt lean back onto its other side. The shape of the feet, as well as the tail and little arms also help with stabilization and making sure it can stay standing while walking. Hopefully that answers your question. :)

pretty cool.
sorry for the sudden notif as its been months since the last comment, but im curious as to how you got it to stabilize?
