Description
Persona Mechanoid Pawns Patch

A patch for the Persona Mechanoid Pawns mod which introduces various changes based on personal preferences:

  • Mechs don't need sleep
  • Disabled comfort need (comfort bar still shows but pawn does not incur mood penalties from it)
  • Persona mechs only use male thin, average, and hulk bodies
  • Reduced negot. ability (from .9 to .75)

These changes are tailored to make Persona Mechanoid Pawns more thematically accurate and fitting (in my opinion) without compromising too much on balance. This mod is primarily for personal use, but it has been shared for others who share similar preferences.

@Talos: It's a good idea; I'll at least look into it. I don't personally use SOS2 and I haven't really been playing Rimworld as of late, but I'm someone who's bored and has too much time on his hands.

I don't know what to say in terms if you can expect it not, but check back periodically. I'll probably add a comment if/when it is implemented.

Is there a chance we can get a version thats compatible with SOS2? (IE, mechanoids dont need oxygen)

@Talos:I fixed the issue. I was using a lazy implementation of a "patch" that replaced a lot of stuff unnecessarily, but I changed them to proper patch operations and that seems to have fixed the issue. This was caused by the main mod undergoing changes. Thanks for the report!

@Talos: It's possible that the main mod updated, breaking something. I'll try to reproduce this when I have the chance. In the meantime, it might be worth trying an earlier version of the main mod.

For some reason with this mod installed, mechanoid pawns will just... Stand, even while drafted they wont move.

There's a small issue:Persona Mechanoids don't need to sleep anymore,but can still have the Quick Sleeper trait.This makes no sense.Please patch this.

Thanks! I think I made that change in the first place because I was a player since the betas, and my perception of the mechs never really went beyond simple robots. It's one of the things I instinctively did without much thought. Since the patch is trying to stick as close to the game as possible though, I'll revert it. Good catch!

Interesting patch that I spotted before ya linked it on the mod page. Honestly it's great to see people tweaking the mod to their preferences! You said it yourself, alot of what I kept that generally feels off is to keep persona mechs at least somewhat balanaced in line with normal pawns.

Only change that seems "thematically" off is lowering the psychic sensitivity. since Biotech, it's notable that high subcore mechs actually have a psychic sensitivity of 75%. Seeing as Persona cores are more advanced and used in all sorts psychic stuff I considered giving them a base psychic sensitivity of 1. In the end I stuck to 75%, because interestingly basic subcore mechs share a 50% psychic sensitivity with normal subcores despite their different complexities.

Either way I'd stick to the changes you like since this is a preference patch.
