Description
Update 5.0: Esar Doombolt's gun has been brought into line with the Infernal Castellan. It no longer suffers from being an extremely weak weapon.

If you were all excited to play the Chaos Dwarfs and were expecting the Infernal Castellan to be comparable to the Dwarf Master Engineer, you were likely as disappointed as I was.

The Castellan's short range gun isn't a shotgun like the Engineer, and it barely hurts small mobs. His long range weapon doesn't hit hard enough to be useful. If you need 100 shots to down a lord, what's the point?

Enter this mod. The Castellan's short range gun has been changed to a shotgun like the Engineer. It now shoots five projectiles, has similar stats to the Engineer, and functions the same as the Engineer with the short range gun.

The Castellan's short range gun does not suppress like the Engineer's does, but it does still have explosive ammunition (which the Engineer's does not). The range on the Castellan's new shotgun has been made appropriate for shotgun type weapons as well.

Also, the sniper version of his rifle has seen a 3x damage boost. It will now be useful. I threw in the same change to the Dwarf Master Engineer's sniper as well.

Note: There is a slight visual bug with the Castellan's skill panel. The skill that gives the shotgun says the range is reduced by 50%, when it's reduced by closer to 70%. This is a visual bug resulting from the way I created the mod (by modifying the weapon and not the skill). The stat on the character will be the accurate range.

Like all GOW mods, this mod has been cleaned to minimize potential conflicts with other mods. This means my mod will not accidentally overwrite someone else's mod changes in an unrelated area. My mod will only conflict with mods that change the exact same things I do.

My goal was to make the infernal castellan useful rather than to make the races identical.

Thanks for making their sniper rifle actually useful.

Any reason why you didn't mirror the stats altogether between chorfs and dwarfs? Particularly making the castallan's shots count as artillery like dwarfs so shields won't block them.

Note as of 4.0: I am not currently playing TWW3 as of Update 4.0. I briefly looked over the new files and don't see that any of my mods have new conflicts that would need fixed. If you are using my mod, and something is broken or incomplete (that was working or complete before 4.0) please post your issue and I will do a more targeted troubleshooting to identify any issues and fix them. Thank you.

Update 4/27/23: Sniper for Castellan and Engineer buffed another 100 AP damage as it was still underperforming.
