Description
Hello World!
___________

Brief History:

As one of the first locomotives widely produced by the DSIR (The Donkk, Sawyer Island Railroad) This S-1 2-8-2 started life as a 2-8-0 built in 1898. after only 5 years in service, the regional carrier decided that the locomotive in its current state, i.e. a deckless engine (where the boiler backhead occupied the majority of the space in the cab) was ungainly and difficult for crews to work with. So beginning in 1904, the DSIR rebuilt all of the S-1's to have an extended cab, thereby requiring the addition of a fixed trailing truck; making the locomotive one of the first 2-8-2s. Depicted here is DSIR #12, built in 1900 as part of the second installment of the class, all named S-1, without sub classes. #12 served the DSIR for 40 years after being rebuilt in 1906, only being scrapped in 1946 after a stent as a yard goat.

Operation:
With all DSIR locomotives, #12 has been simplified for user experience, although some aspects of steam locomotive operation have been retained.

Startup Procedure:
1. Get to the cab of the loco, making sure all hoses between engine and tender are connected properly
2. Light firebox (key above fire door) and open the Damper to 1.00
3. Check water gauge (fireman's side) and add any necessary water via injector on the cab floor (the injector isn't automatic, one must continue to let water into the boiler throughout use)
4. Wait for steam to build up pressure, and move!

*It should be noted that because of the horrendous quality of Stormworks track, and the overall weakness of the steam cylinders modeled in game, that I have added my BoosterSystem so as to make longer trains at speed possible. To use this feature, simply connect up the electrical anchor behind the tender (in yellow by the coupler) to any BoosterSystem equipped rolling stock (coming soon)

*No. 12 is now WABSIM compatible!

I give my thanks to Kahrstrom's xml pipe pack, as without it, much of the decorative plumbing wouldn't be possible.

The tender seems to spawn without any water in it?

@Carol28: I have made some physical changes in regards to the booster motor and updated the vehicle. The booster motors are now in the tender and are more powerful to address some power problems of late. Hope that helps!

Look, I turn on the boiler, I release the brake of the tender, then I release the brakes of the machine and I put on the compressor and I use everything there is and I put the accelerator in motion, it advances a few meters and then it stops and I don't touch anything, can you make a video of it? Operation please, by the way, the brake of the machine, the one that is below, does not go to position 0.0, it is a very well made machine, but I don't know why it doesn't work, does it need infinite electricity or something?

@carol28: make sure to release the brakes (I.e. check the handbrake and the compressor). I would check the WABSIM page itself if you haven't used it before.

Hello, I have tried the train and it does not move and I have not followed any step wrong

okay alright

Nah, I personally don't like deckless engines, instead I probably will build bigger (i.e. USRA locomotives) and expand the fleet that way. My intent with the DSIR is to create railroad in the 1920s - 1930s timeframe

are you thinking about making a 1898 version of 12

I'm not sure what you mean
