Alpha's EU Shivs

Description
Hi this is a rework of the prior Shiv mod I posted ( https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1527642618 ). This is similar to my other shiv mod however the shivs no longer can rank up. Now they instead gain new abilities by proving ground projects, and from the various gear they can equip. This is my attempt to make the SHIVs more like the ones in Xcom EU/EW.

Their are two types of SHIVS. The first SHIV is the scout SHIV, they focus on movement and detecting enemies. The Second SHIV is the Alloy Shiv which is designed to be a tank. Each Shiv has 5 proving ground projects that can improve them in various ways.


Warnings
Please don't bring shiv on the lost and abandoned mission. That mission is a bit buggy with robotic units as you are not meant to have them on the mission. I also dont recommend having your Shivs try take the vial from the black site mission as that will bug out the game.

This mod was not designed for LWOTC so many errors can occur if you try and use it with LWOTC. Also do not use this Shiv mod with my other Shiv mod.

Personally I am not mod-savvy enough but from what I heard it seems the shiv's using the Skyrangers' Sounds when actions occur like going up or down certain obstacles. I am assuming it just defaulted to that sound pack. I might be misremembering but wasn't the skyrangers' sound super loud years ago?, maybe the same thing's happening with the shiv as well.

@Wolf Renegade Honestly I do not know how to edit their sounds. I am wanting them to be more quiet as well. With work and other IRL things I have not had to much time to work/update all of my Xcom 2 mods. If someone can find a way in the files to make them quieter, and wanted to work with me to make that occur in this mod I would make some time to update this.

I really enjoy using Shivs, I have one small gripe and that's just the sound which is somewhat loud even if sound effect is almost muted. Is there a way to edit the sound myself, even if it's to mute it as a last resort temporarily?

@Caine I state do not bring Shivs to the mission called lost and abandoned. The special story mission for WOTC, because they can break that mission. I did not stat any missions with lost on them.

As for the GTS thing that is another mod breaking something as I cannot put SHIVs into the GTS for my game. SHIVs in this mod do not rank up, so even if another mod let's you rank them up it wont do anything.

Finally no you cannot change their appearance, SHIVs current models are not able to be customized like normal soldiers. This cannot be done for a number of technical reasons.

First of all, great mod! Thank you for this nostalgic little guy back in my arsenal. :)

First question: I noticed that in the Guerrilla Tactics School, you can train a shiv for 5 days to obtain Upgrade 1. 5 days later, nothing happened, as far as I can tell. (Simple stat boost?) Is there anything to this upgrade or is that leftover code and doesn't do anything more? Additionally, the name of the SHIV still reads Base Lightning SHIV. Was the name supposed to change?

Second question: Would it be possible to apply colors and patterns to them like you can do on SPARKS?

Btw, I also read on your description to not use shivs on Lost missions, and yet I have done so twice in my current campaign and there were zero issues. My Scout SHIV just mowed down Lost left, right and centre and I encountered no bugs or crashes of any kind.

I never ported anything before, let alone SFM
(I would have loved to see the hover shiv but also it's laser and plasma shiv guns)
