[HS]-Trooping the Colour, Part 1 (USATC S160)

In 1 collection by Highball Simulation
Western Lines of Scotland Scenarios
14 items
Description
In an alternate world to our own, 70 S160 2-8-0s remained in Britain after WW2 and were incorporated into British Railway’s fleet, being allocated numbers in the 95xxx series. The class was found to be best suited to long distance slow speed freight due to the engine’s prone-ness to vibration at high speed. In this two-part scenario, you have been booked to work a shipment of tanks from Longtown to Eastriggs. In Part 1, your train has just arrived at Longtown on the Waverley line and is awaiting permission to enter the Longtown compound. Once the line is clear, you will drop your cargo in the loop and attach to your new train, before then proceeding to Eastriggs. Duration: About 35 minutes.

DLC:
Western Lines of Scotland
USATC S160 2-8-0
Woodhead Route

Optional DLC:
VP Track Patch (not required if you own the AP Track Enhancement Pack, as the changes are entirely cosmetic)
GAD Wagon Texture Patch (not required, but highly recommended)

@chris The S160 is essentially the American cousin of the War Department 2-8-0 (an engine which sadly cannot be used in Workshop scenarios). Surprisingly powerful for their size, some are still going on both sides of the pond nearly 80 years after they were introduced-not bad for engines designed to last 2 years at most.

Have no objection to alternate worlds! First time I have driven the S160, it's a big old beast, but plenty of power to get up out of Longtown with a heavy load. Interesting first part of the run thank you. Kind Regards. Chris

@tonix You are meant to stop in Longtown before uncoupling. A text box will appear after a few seconds informing you when it is safe to uncouple.

very pretty szenario. addons looks great & we run some on rusty tracks
but got in longtown (or so) an X for unknown reasons, just before uncoupling the train.
