Really good for clearing out whole asteroids quickly as well as dishing out pain to enemies in the iron belt. I actually recommend pairing it with a mod like optimized mining turrets or a pack that includes it, not because this interacts with it (it doesn't) but because it gives the base game mining lasers a niche again: Mining lasers granting higher yields but are slow one-block-at-a-time affairs, or mining bombs which can mine out entire asteroids quickly, but you lose some of its resources in the process.

(And yes, the mod is working, and perfectly)
