Heraldry of the Empire and Sylvania 1.12

Description
This is the successor of my heraldry work for WHII, found here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2812430321&searchtext=book+accurate

In the same spirit, the Old World imperial factions plus Vlad's and Mannfred's faction now have more lore-accurate banners and colours. This time, assets of better quality, originally created by WH I modder イアン uzo70, have been used to piece this mod together.

I recommend to set your anti-aliasing not higher than FXAA or else the campaign map will be so blurry that you'll have a hard time seeing the details of the flags. This is also the setting I used in order to create the images you can see above this description. There are also mods to greatly reduce the fog on the campaign map and to correct map colours, which too help to make your campaign map look better.

If you use Hooveric's "Toned Down Faction Colours" mod, also subscribe to this compatibility patch: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2947658746

Middenland and Ostland use the shield of arms visible on their state flag instead of their actual flags as faction symbols and banners, for the sake of more diversitiy and better distinction on the campaign map. Otherwise too many factions are going to have red/gules as dominant colour on their flag. Marienburg however keeps it's entire state flag, simply because it looks great and because the distinction to Talabecland is clear.
The battle banners are different for all affected factions as well and use the colour pattern of the new campaign banners instead of their soldier's uniforms. This can't be changed since the campaign banner also determines the colour of the battle banner. The uniform colours are left at vanilla records.

Changelog: See under "change notes" in the mod section.

Thanks sigmars_disciple, I'll try to get in touch with you once I finally have some time :)

Sigmar protects.

The preview of those "mon.banner" DDS files look like a simplified version of the faction's banner design elements, e.g. without background/"shield shape" or secondary elements. Let's chat on Discord, maybe? Same handle, brother <3

@TRIALON You have the most loreful flag mod on the Workshop from what I can tell - we thank and salute you for your well researched work, by Sigmar!

Hey @Tsu, could you "create" these simpler 2D UI version files for the Empire factions where this should be done? I'm just making my own custom flag mod - one of my first RPFM excursions, so I gotta keep it simple HAHA - but I see what you mean in the .pack files of flag mods like this beautfully made mod <3 here.

The folder "ui" contains "flags" and then there's 1 folder for each faction affected, e.g. "wh_main_emp_talabecland" or "wh_main_emp_nordland". Each one has a file called "mon.banner.dds" which kinda looks like what you're describing. If you can get those files created (or know someone who can) I'll try and get your personal .pack made ;)

I really like the banner textures. It's just harder to make out the little details in the smaller 2D UI version.

Thank you for permission.

The goal of the mod is to keep it uniform, like in vanilla, or else it can get confusing or simply annoying to me. What you describe is something for an optional submod. Feel free to create one if you want because I'm just neither into this idea nor getting extra assets for it, sorry.

As an example of what I mean, the Army Banner for Talabecland would remain the same, but the 2D UI version would be the simplified one simply showing the eagle without the "TAAL" ribbon, like the simplified version shown on page 9. Or, for example, the Von Carstein banner would also remain the same, but the 2D UI version would just be the black and red shield.

Nordland's flag would just be the ship on a red field, Hochland the white cross on red, Middenland the white wolf head above a yellow fortress on blue, or maybe just stay the same... Stirland could be the simplified graphic of a skull and a horn. But the more detailed graphic would still be seen on the 3D banner.

This may be a preference thing, but I think it would be cool if the simplified icon in the diplomacy screen and on heroes, matched more closely with the elector count shields on page 9. And the cloth flags above armies could have a more detailed and elaborate design, to contrast with the simpler graphic for the diplomacy icon. This will make factions much more visually distinct and easy to identify in the diplomacy menu!
