Description
This mod will no longer receive updates as it is now a part of Cultural Armies Pack mod


What it does

This mod replaces vanilla men-at-arms for Turkic and Mongolian Nomads with new ones made by me
All new men-at-arms are based on anything I could find

List of new men-at-arms:

Turkic:
  • Akinji - Light Cavalry but more versatile and deadly in the steppes, your army backbone
  • Sipahi - Heavy Cavalry of the steppes
  • Timariot - Heavy Horse Archers, less damage with more armor and effectiveness against regular Horse Archers
Mongol:
  • Cherbi - Light Cavalry but more versatile and deadly in the steppes, your army backbone
  • Keshik - Elite Cavalry of the Mongols
  • Torguud - Heavy Horse Archers, less damage with more armor and effectiveness against regular Horse Archers

Note: You and all Turks/Mongols will no longer be able to hire vanilla men-at-arms anymore
Note2: You or AI do not need to research this as there is a decisions to instantly unlock all the cool stuff
Note3: Only Turks and Mongols cultures losses access to Vanilla/Regular men-at-arms, other cultures do not lose them

Why

I just wanted to play as *Any Nomads* with *Any Nomads* purely cavalry Army but there was no such mod in the workshop
Now there is one

Compatibility

Compatible with almost everything, the mod touches only this vanilla files:
window_menatarms_type_view - to replace vanilla men-at-arms with new one
texticons - Nobody ever used this file on my memory but if you are a perfectionist then this is the most important one

**Some new regiments icons were created by me but still many credits goes to Salicy and his HoC mod

aidanbradypop, It does not replace them only if other mod overrides window_menatarms_type_view file in the MOD/gui folder, try placing Byz/Nomad armies mods at the bottom of your mod list in the launcher

Koni, It adds one or two units and then leaves all the other men-at-arms there. Is it suppose to do that? I thought it replaced them all.

aidanbradypop, If you are using other mods that are changing cultures, traditions or heritage than its might cause problems BUT thats why I added a decision to instantly unlock innovation

For Byz decision your character only needs to have a greek culture

For Turkic decision your character culture needs to have Turkic Heritage and Horse Lords Tradition

For Mongols decision your character culture needs to have Mongol Heritage and Horse Lords Tradition

I must be doing something wrong. I cannot get this one to work or the Byzantine one to work.

hamletsdead, Only Turk/Mongolian cultures losses access to regular men-at-arms but not you. If you convert to nomads (Turk or Mongolian) or merge with them you will also lose access to regular/vanilla men-at-arms

So if I'm in a Viking-conquering-the-world playthru I assume this mod only would apply to my turk/mongolian etc. enemies? And only would change the names of my men at arms companies if I change to a turk/mogolian culture and rule as a nomad?
