Description
Livonia's biggest coal mine, biggest in Europe just suffered enormous fire. Its flames and smoke caused the ejection of materials into the atmosphere, causing unprecedentedly strong storms and earthquakes. Join the brave pilots from IDAP helping in this dangerous situation.

In this scenario, your mission will be to take the helm of a transport helicopter and complete a series of procedurally generated tasks (5 in SP. in COOP this number can be adjusted.) while avoiding otherworldly thunderstorms capable of destroying your helicopter.

Possible tasks include:
- Transport IDAP personnel between camps.
- Deliver Food Supplies.
- Deliver Medical Supplies.
- Deliver Offroad vehicle to outpost.
- Recover lost Unmaned Ground Vehicle (UGV).



WHAT THE HECK ARE "OTHERWORLDLY THUNDERSTORMS"?
These storms are areas about 1 km in diameter that move around the map. It's your job to avoid them, because if your helicopter gets caught in them, you're in for a shocking end to the mission.

But all is not lost if you get caught. The last chance for you is to turn off the engine and glide to the end of the marked storm area, or descending to less than 5 m should save you from being struck.



CONTACT DLC IS NEEDED TO PLAY THIS SCENARIO.



Procedural generation is used in the mission to make it fresh and interesting on every playthrough.
Everything from behaviour of the thunderstorms through IDAP camp locations to task types is subject to randomization.

Please note that this mission has a very wide range of difficulty due to the number of factors controlled by the RNG.




COOP mode is available for up to 8 players.

Takes somewhere between 20 - 25 minutes to complete the mission.

Cap10_Bull@ it's added. You can now go as low as only 1 storm in all 4 of the missions. :>

I now remember why there was no parameter from the start because the way I've set it up it was more then just few lines of code to add. But when you said A you gotta say B. That option does now exist. :>

Cap10_Bull@ whoops. Yeah I'm just looking at it rights now. Looks like I just decided on number that felt balanced and left it at that.

But since I told you what I told you and it's easy add (about 2 lines of actual code for each mission) I will add it. Expect that in 30-60 minutes for all Calamity missions. :>

Full of anticipation, I followed your advice, but I discovered only four parameters that can be set in MP. (Respawn Tickets, Number of Tasks, Number of concurrently Tasks and the Time).
Now I am not experienced in hosting games and may have missed something, but where?
I guess I just have to get better with the helicopter flight first and can try your mission again later.
At the moment, anyway, turning off the engines in flight means 100% guaranteed death for me. :clang:

Cap10_Bull@ , those earthquakes... are only cosmetic. They don't affect helicopter in any way. :|
I also hope you know you can survive these storms by turning of the engine. Then they will just pass you by.

As for "beginner-friendly versions" of these specific scenarios I have no plans for it as the whole point of those misisons was to make transport missions with some challenge. I have way more ideas for missions then time to make them reality so I kinda have to "choose my battles" as they say. Sorry. :\

However I believe you can adjust number of storms etc when you launch this mission from multiplayer. I don't remember from the top of my head how low number can you select but I'm almost sure you can lower it below what is in SP.

I liked the idea (and I still like it) and subscribed to all these missions, but it's not for beginners. Every move has to be right or you'll be grilled before you even know what the mission is.
Maybe you build beginner-friendly variants of these missions ... less storms and / or slower and less frequent earthquakes. Then I would be back and probably have real fun learning to fly.
Nevertheless a really cool idea. :selike:

Very nice one, it def trains lads to be better as a support role in different scenarios and such
