NCC-1701 Enterprise

Description
The Enterprise has been boarded by the Combine, and some other baddies have tagged along. Nearly all of the crew have abandoned ship, and the rest are dead. It's up to you to save the ship. Find a weapon, get to the bridge, and disarm the self destruct before you are toast (10 minutes)!

reminder: according to Capt. Kirk, in the last 5 seconds, no command in the universe can stop the auto destruct. So I guess you really have 9 minutes, 55 seconds...

Once you disarm the self destruct, feel free to tour the ship and find stuff from various episodes.

Notes:
I've optimized as well as I know how, but this is a big map and might take an upscale machine to run smoothly.

Important: I really tried to make this map accurate and consistent with the Star Trek TV show. Some knowledge of Star Trek TOS will help you navigate it. For example, the location of the self destruct panel is shown in the episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield". The layout of the ship is made from actual set plans from the TV show with a few adjustments, so for the most part you will find rooms located where they would be on the show. I did not put a lot of cues in the map for how to do things, because I assumed everyone would be familiar with conventions from the show like grabbing a turbolift handle to make the lift go. Or, if you want to fix something that isn't working on the ship (like a turbolift) you go to engineering. After thinking about it, I realized that a lot of people may not have watched the show like I did! I hope that doesn't trip many of you up.

Alternative: If you really just want to tour the ship and not have to deal with a fire fight, I have just the thing for you: I have done another, larger version of this map as a steam Environment that you can even set as your steam home if you want to. You can find it in my workshop and subscribe to it and it will appear in your environments list. It has a shuttle bay, much better phaser, and a WORKING TRANSPORTER! Yes, you can beam off the ship! There's also a TNG version of the ship there if you like that better.

@Stranger The Steam Workshop is pretty stupid in how it calculates likes. It doesn't register any until there are a minimum of 25 likes, I believe, and then it limits it to 3/5 stars until other thresholds are met. https://steamproxy.net/groups/NewSteamCommunityBeta/discussions/3/828925849481042441/

Don't know why this map doesn't has any likes, but its great. An enterprise D map would be amazing.

The updates enhanced the experience nicely, especially the audio cues. The right placement of music (e.g, the holodeck or bridge) can really add something. In playing through it a 2nd time, I've come to realize how small the ship feels (specifically the engine room and bridge), and would not be opposed to see some areas literally expanded upon.

Just uploaded a significant update catching up on a number of things, many of which were mentioned in the reviews: turbolift floor lights now work, flashing red alert lights now work- plus added another button on Uhura's bridge station to turn them on and off, spiffed up Uhura's quarters a little, brig door buttons are now lit and working, fixed a bunch of issues with the turbolifts where the player could do things to make them glitch, and Nomad is now loose (tip:Nomad has an attitude problem and I wouldn't f*** with him).

@Skummeh: Thanks for that awesome walk through! I love how much you know about the episodes and I think your commentary while you're playing is really entertaining. Sorry some of those sounds are still a little glitchy. I did adjust the phaser aiming, but looks like for you it is still a bit high. I'll dig back into that when I can get back to this map. I also really like your suggestions for additions in various areas and will try to do some of them.

@skummeh and @collindrennen Thank you so much for your feedback! First I'm really glad you had fun with the map. That's what it's all about. I appreciate your suggestions about sound: I particularly like the idea of of a more regular update on the timer and having more theme music playing. I'll talk about some of this and also some of the other comments in the technical discussion area.

I also really like the idea of doing Scotty's cabin with a bottle of scotch! I may convert Uhura's cabin to be Scotty's. I'm a bit busy on other projects right now, but I'd like to get back to this one and do some more enhancements. Thank you again for the help with it.
