[TBS] Tank Track Steering Controller MK3

Description

If you like this Controller, please consider leaving a like. This will help others to find this cool Controller aswell!

Tank Track Controller MK3
MICROCONTROLLER

This is an enhanced version of my previously uploaded Tank Track Steering Controller. It adds engine management to the Controller, so you can just use this one controller for all your basic needs of driving.

For those who don't know the first version, please check it out here:

For an example vehicle, please go here:

USE

This Controller will turn your old WS for throttle and AD for steering into a different steering method.
From now on, you will aim in a direction and use WASD to set the direction of driving.
When you press A, your tank will turn and drive towards the left side of your screen.
When you press WD, your tank will turn and move towards 45° of your front right.
When you press S, your tank will drive away from your aiming point.

YES! This awesome way of steering has arrived in Stormworks too!

Type of Engine:
This Controller can handle all kinds of setups. You can run pure electric, run a strong Diesel engine, or even a powerful Jet Turbine. You can set the necessary options on the Controller. Also, the Nodes are labeled accordingly.
Please be mindful about your setup. These engines can be very powerful and ruin your driving experience when not setup well. Make sure to have a happy balance between power and controlability!

This Controller gives you a few options to set when installing it. These Settings are:

Turret Rotation Speed:
Sets the maximum rotation speed the turret will use to follow your aim.

Hotkey 3rd Person Elevation Offset:
When switching from 1st person to 3rd Person, you will notice that the mouse aim is absolutely useless, as it goes through your vehicle. Here you set which of the Seat Hotkeys will add an offset to help you aim in 3rd Person View.

3rd Person Elevation Offset:
Here you set how much Offset you need. Too little and you can not aim propperly, too much and you can't see where you are aiming at. Find your medium, which depends mostly on your vehicle.

Lower Elevation Clamp:
Prevents the gun from going too low.

Upper Elevation Clamp:
Prevents the gun from going too high.

Invert at ...:
This is a HUGE Setting and is mostly a matter of taste. Here you set at which point the Vehicle will switch into reverse mode.
A Setting of Zero means that at +- 90° is the switch point after which the Vehicle will go into Reverse (and invert steering). This means that i.e when you look behind your vehicle and press W, your vehicle will reverse into the direction you are aiming at. Or when you look forwards and press S, your vehicle will reverse normally.
A Setting of One means that there is no Reverse. You have 360° of forwards drive - your vehicle will always turn to go forwards. i.e when you drive forwards normally and then press S, your base will turn around to drive away from your aim.
A Setting of Minus One means that it will always drive in Reverse (and invert steering)

Motor or Diesel/Jet:
This will change the way the controller sets your clutch. It adopts to your engine and the needed inputs for the clutches. Some additional nodes will be necessary or obsolete.

Max. RPS:
Sets the driving target of Engine RPS on Diesel/Jet.

Idle RPS:
Sets the standing idle Engine RPS on Diesel/Jet.

RPS finetune:
A quick adjustment of RPS for engines that are slightly off-point. If your RPS is lower than expected, which can happen depending on Engine Setup, you can give a bit more throttle here.

Nodes:

Composite Input: Seat
Connect the Driver Seat here

Number Output: Left Track
Connect the Motor or Clutch for the LEFT Track here

Number Output: Right Track
Connect the Motor or Clutch for the RIGHT Track here

Number Output: Turret Rotational Speed (optional)
Connect your Turret Rotational Speed here, if you want

Number Input: Turret Current Rotation (optional)
When you connect your Turret, you need to connect this node aswell!

Number Output: Gun Elevation (optional)
If you are using the Turret with the driver seat, you probably want to aim up/down aswell

On/Off Node: Reverse Gear Left
Use this node if you want to run Diesel or Jet Engines. They need a Reverse Gear built in.

On/Off Node: Reverse Gear Right
Use this node if you want to run Diesel or Jet Engines. They need a Reverse Gear built in.

Number Output: Clutch (Di/Je)
This node is needed, when you run an Engine or Jet. It will make sure to keep a healthy RPS on your engine for best efficiency.
Note: This Clutch is directly connected to the engine RPS output. If you want to use a Kickstarter, like a small motor, place it AFTER this clutch, but BEFORE the Track Clutches.

Number Output: Kickstarter (Motor for Di/Je):
As the name sais, this is for a Motor to kickstart your engine. It will turn on when a Key/Toggle is activated and the RPS is below useable.

Number Output: Air / Jet (Di/Je)
This is the THROTTLE output. Use it directly on the Jet, or a Diesel Air Manifold.

Number Output: Fuel (ME only)
This node is needed for Modular Engines only. It feeds the Fuel Manifold.

Number Input: Engine RPS (Di/Je)
Input the Engine RPS here.

On/Off Node: Parking Brake (both sides)
This will make sure that your Vehicle will not roll away while you take a nap on the soft grass. It applies automatically when you exit your vehicle.
It is not used for steering!

Rules of Re-Use
Feel free to use this Controller in your Vehicles, and even upload them.
