Statue Gene

Description
This mod adds a gene that limits pawn movement speed to 0.15 cs. The pawn, while nearly frozen, has hunger and sleep rate reduced by 99%, meaning that they are practically in a state of stasis.

The pawn can then use an ability to go into "overdrive", which boosts their movement and work capabilities to that of a normal pawn, but costs 2x more sleep and 2x more hunger than a normal pawn for 24 hours. The cooldown is like 5 secs, you can keep this up forever if needed.

Why would this be useful/beneficial in any way? The answer is simple: having a time-locked pawn allows for very unique custom species. The time-lock also means that the pawn does not need to be fed or cared for, but can spring into action when necessary.

I'm personally using this in combination with other gene mods to make a living dryad tree, capable of summoning dryads and whatnot.

You know that one scene in the harry potter movie, where Professor McGonagall makes all the statue come to life to defend the school? Yeah, That's what I was looking for, and this seems to do it very nicely! Thank You!

You know what would be interesting? A UV sensitive version of this, for those of use who want to roleplay Disney's Gargoyles.

maby you could make it so that the weeping angels have some kind of gene where if they have it, they can't freeze or be frozen by other weeping angels

ideology adds blindfolds to satisfi the blineded in early game (when you'r not ready to you know)

Well I intend to blind my angels so they only freeze when something else sees them. The blinding ceremony could take a while though. There are blindfolds, pretty sure they're added by a mod though.

@Vardath I’ve had the same thought, and I imagine I would have to add a type of apparel that slightly reduces vision and prevents angels from freezing. I haven’t made a definite decision tho, if you have any ideas I’d be more than happy to try them out

Just had a thought, what happens in a weeping angel party? They'd all have to be blind or it would go on forever.

False Prophet, there is a mod that adds Fog of War called (NWN) Real Fog of War, perhaps you can use this for LOS

Ooh, I've been trying to makeshift a gargoyle xenotype recently, and this sounds like it could be made to fit the whole 'freezing in the sun' thing. Could also be used really well as guard pawns by the sound of it. Either way, really cool gimmick for a colony!
