Shifting Sands

Shifting Sands aims to bring the battles of the North African campaign to Post Scriptum. The project began in the summer of 2020, and has grown massively since then.

Our team is made up of members from around the world and across the PS community. We want to bring one of the most dynamic and under-represented theatres of the Second World War to Post Scriptum, to provide a completely different and unique game-play experience. It is our hope that the player will be immersed in the harsh realities of desert warfare, from the perils of mechanised pushes over open terrain, to close quarter fighting in entrenched positions.

Be ready to fight in unique divisions from the British Commonwealth, Deutsches Afrikakorps, and Regio Esercito, including the 9th (Australian) Division, 7th Armoured Division, 15th Panzer Division, and the Ariete Division.

All of our factions have unique historically accurate uniforms, insignia, and design, to bring a colourful variety to the battlefield.

We strive to make historically accurate battlefields and locations to provide an authentic experience on our maps. To that end we have done painstaking research into the topography, geology, climate, and flora of the areas you will be fighting over. Using both historical photographs and the modern day technology at our disposal, our map designers have been able to recreate the environment of the Western Desert campaign like never before.

Our first two maps will include Hill 209: a high point on the perimeter of the Tobruk siege frontline, and Bardia: a coastal town overlooking rugged terrain on the Via Balbia.


Kick up some dust in our new vehicles, including the iconic Crusader, Valentine, and Cruiser tanks of the British 8th Army, and the agile Panzer I of Rommel's Afrika Korps! Additional vehicles are already being worked on, and as Post Scriptum updates vanilla vehicles from the armoured overhaul, these will also be added.

All vanilla PS vehicles have new textures to represent the theatre and the units fighting.

We have added a host of new weapons suitable for the 1941 period of the campaign, including the Thompson M1928A1, Bren Mk. I, and MP38/40, as well as a number of new grenades and explosives to counter enemy vehicles!
