Vanilla Nutrient Paste Expanded is a small mod created to showcase what the new Pipe network code is capable of in Vanilla Expanded framework. It adds a rather simple chain, unlocked with Nutrient Paste research project, allowing the player to store nutrient paste in advance without the need for convoluted nutrient paste dispensers and hoppers. Players will now pipe nutrient paste directly from paste grinders into large storage vats. This can be connected to special output valves which serve prisoners and colonists with a not-so-tasty disgusting-looking stew.

The introduction of nutrient paste dripper will allow you to automatically feed bed-bound colonists or prisoners. Truly the stuff of nightmares.

Nutrient paste pipes can now be connected to any structure requiring nutrients, such as the Growth Vat, and will automatically supply it with required fuel.

We are not removing the current nutrient paste dispenser or changing how it works - well, maybe a little change, but other than that this mod serves as new content, not changes to existing content.

A: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save?
A: Yes, definitely.

Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?
A: Yes.

Q: What happens if the power is cut from the vats?
A: The content will begin spoiling rapidly, until power returns.

Q: Can I prevent the content from spoiling?
A: Yes, simply keep your vats in a refrigerated room.

Q: Can I use the nutrient paste pipes to provide nutrience for buildings that require it? Such as the Growth vat?
A: You absolutely can!

Q: What happens if I put meat/human meat into the grinders?
A: It will contaminate the entire supply - so if your colony is vegetarian and some meat makes it way into the supply, all nutrient paste meals will contain meat. Fear not, you can cleanse the system with one press of a button, discarding every meal inside!

Using this mod and MinifyEverything , whenever i have a nutrient paste vat 'uninstalled' as an item anywhere on the map, the caravan creation menu bugs out. I narrowed down the issue to the nutrient paste vat by using the dev mode Refog Area and isolating it. not a game breaking issue, just wanted it to be documented.

Hi guys. The nutrient pipes are not being able to build in corner walls with only diagonal access. Like, inner corner wall in a L-shaped double wall. It says no path available.
I submitted the bug report.

Hey VE Team / Oskar, I'm asking for usage permission of two altered art assets.

I'm creating a mod called "compact nutrient paste dispenser" (unpublished but practically finished), it's very simple, it just downsizes the grinder to 2x2, adds a sunken passable nutrient vat and a smaller 1x2 nutrient paste tap for exclusive use in the new gravships similar to how you have compact work benches.

Only issue is, I use a modified version of the nutrient paste tap and vat from this mod and modified it to look nice for gravship use. Can I get permission for the use of the altered tap / vat textures? Alternatively I'm willing to give you guys all the files if you guys prefer to have this idea integrated into the main mod itself. I don't like making mod pages anyway and it would be a nice addition to gravships to have compact nutrient paste.

yeah doesn't work for prisoners straight up like mention the food policy is also set.

Click on the feeder, under the storage options set it to critical. Pawns will never take meals from it except to eat.

Currently your freezer storage has a higher priority than the feeder does so they're taking it where they think it should go.

My people are taking meals from the paste feeder, depleting the system as they go back and forth from the two pens I have set up for animals to eat from the feeders. I have like 500 in freezer from them constantly going back and forth taking from the feeder, storing in the feeder, taking, etc etc. How do I set it so it only takes out and stores what meals i want? Say I want 2 meals, it should only ever hold 2 meals, yet colonists go and store meals there, letting them rot or be pulled out as I mentioned.

So that means it isn't working then Raptor. If you have to manually force a pawn it isn't working as intended

yes, they seems not working for my modlist. Forcing a pawn to feed another will make him use the tap, so it IS working, just pawns seems not to use it for normal food tasks.

Is anyone else having trouble with pawns no using the nutrient paste tap? I'll have plenty of meals in storage and everything is connected, but they'll go eat a corpse from the fridge instead. They only eat the nutrient paste if I manually extract X amount of meals so they can take it to storage, but they never directly use the taps themselves.
