Description
Much More Galaxies

Provides more Galaxies for Stellaris. Supports Galaxy sizes from 25-2500 and adds 24 new galaxy shapes. This mod does not alter the appearance in any way! (Some of the shots are in Vanilla as you may notice)

The following shapes are added (in alpahbetical order; see also Screenshots above):

  • Barred Spiral (SBa and SBc types[en.wikipedia.org]
  • Clusters (2,3**, 4*, 6 & 8**)
  • Cross
  • Disk**
  • Dragon Tail*
  • Fan (3 & 4)
  • Gear
  • Irregular (Type 1,2* & 3)
  • Snowflake (4 & 6)
  • Square

Version V 0.0.3

Compatibility: This mod does nothing fancy just adds scenarios and shapes. (It overwrites map/galaxy/galaxy_shapes.txt and adds files to map/setup_scenarios). No graphical or other things involved, so it should
be compatible with nearly every other mod)

Definitely check them out especially if you want bigger Galaxy sizes or Graphical improvements! I don't support more than 2.5k because a 10k Galaxy only is good for the memes as most PCs will have trouble with them in
more recent versions of Stellaris.

Would it be possible to have something like 'square' but without the wall of stars at the edges?

@DARKH0BBIT Really sorry for the really late answer but I was out due to health reasons... several of the mods you listed I also installed, so I suspect it's the unique system spawns as the other mods I know well.

Also my mod does not really use any special shenanigans or specific scripts or the like just standard settings of Stellaris as I wanted to avoid too much maintainance, so it's really hard to tell what the issue is.

@LAJ-47FC9 (Liara) Some of the shapes are not possible without letting something into the core, so unfortunately I don't know how to avoid this. Stellaris galaxy settings don't have that many parameters so handle, so you sometimes have to allow a little bit in the middle to make the shape even work.

This mod seems to fill in the core of some galaxy types. I'm a big fan of having a filled-in core, but also I feel like it conflicts a bit with GE&M's galactic core idea. Any hope of leaving just a little bit of room cleared out in the core, so that GE&M can do things without it looking really feckin weird?

no i know its capped at 2.5k i tried the 7k just to test and it did work to a degree as well

i tried to play at 2k 2.5k and 3k all worked for a bit but would crash randomly, usually when entering a solar system from galaxy map both newly discovered or one i have already been to before and panned in solar system view so i don't know how to pin/recreate this crash consistently, but this mod would also cause a ctd upon generating the galaxy upon a fresh start (sometimes). what the problem seems to be is either there's an issue with individual solar system generation or maybe a graphical issue linked to that or possibly a conflict with a mod i have but i don't see one that would specifically conflict with but here's the list if you know of a conflict you've maybe encountered before

@DARKHOBBIT My mod does only support sizes up to 2.5K. Does sound you have another mod installed which causes the crash.
Also thanks for the hint with the missing thumbnail! I added one.

@Mr.TurboFister3000 Some are, some are not, Square shapes for example are artificial ;) But e.g. Dragontail, or SBa and SBc, Irregulars or Pulsar are inspired by nature. Cross, Snowflake are not, but according to the Infinite Monkey Theorem [en.wikipedia.org] it may be possible somewhere out there.

@Terminator: That's the idea of the cluster shapes. They are disjoint except for 1-2 hyperlanes. Real 2core galaxies are not possible with the game engine without creating a fully custom map, but those don't work really with RNG.

@snua@22 I use Giga and had no issues so far.

cant seem to get your mod to work properly just causes random ctd when panning to planet's and on game launch's. my systems beefy never even hit 50% on 7k size so i think its a conflict with the engine? how have you managed to get it to function properly?

also could you add dragon's tail screen shot its not posted :)
