Brutal Blood Knights

Description
"The Blood Knights are nigh indestructible and their thirst for blood makes them ferocious and implacable. There are few tales to tell of their existence, for those who see them often die of fright, or worse, find themselves skewered on a wicked lance and hauled into the air before the fangs of the waiting Blood Knight." - Games Workshop


This mod aims to make Blood Knights as powerful in-game as they are in the lore. Blood Knights are exceptionally strong and are about on equal footing with a Grail Knight. I found that their unit size of 60 was just too big, as Blood Knights (and vampires in general) are not that common in the lore - they are somewhat rare.

This mod will make Blood Knights some of the most powerful cavalry in the game. Their stats have been buffed, unit size reduced to 16, and upkeep and recruitment costs have increased.

Big shout out to mgsanm for their Superhuman Grail Knights mod, which heavily inspired me to make this mod.

100%, iirc on tabletop they had regular movement rules while the rest of the roster couldn't move quickly unless right next to a caster

I agree. Plus I think it makes sense. Out of all the VC roster, Blood Dragons are the most conscious sine they're literally vampires rather than just raised dead.

Final update for the day. I'm finally happy with the stat changes.

Updated the mount stats to increase speed and unit size so they successfully push through infantry with more ease. I'm having a ton of fun with the current stats.

I also buffed the horse mount stats of the Blood Dragon lord so they are in line with the Blood Knights buff. This will make for a very fun mounted stack of vampires.

Updated unit weight from Heavy to Very Heavy to help them push through infantry easier.

Updated melee attack interval from 5.1 to 4.4 seconds as it was too slow for a lower man count unit.

Fixed an error I made on the unit tier card.

Updated to reflect latest patch's new versions of underlying tables.

One of the latest patches also broke the attribute junctions added by this mod, which has been fixed.

Battle Entities table changes has been removed from the mod as the Blood Knights entity is no longer actually used in Land Units.

Planned future updates: stop them from getting stuck so often in melee.
