(1.10.10) Arctic Explorer | Steampunk Arctic Snow Cruiser

Description
(Fictional)
Built to fill in the final blanks in the map at the polar regions of the world, the Arctic Steam Snow Cruiser 1, better known as the Arctic Explorer, was a machine unlike any other. With a powerful, compact steam engine, two tracked bogeys that allowed for extreme maneuverability, large food, water, and coal storages, and an entire steam airplane, the Arctic Explorer would cruise along the rough, snowy terrain, covering more land than any foot-based expedition could ever hope to match.

SPECIFICATIONS

Top speed: roughly 30 Knots
Length (as it is in the workbench): 21.75 Meters
Width (including voxels): 8.75 Meters
Height: 8.5 Meters

FEATURES

-Fully functional steam airplane
-2 Control stations
-3 Cylinder steam engine
-1 Steam generator
-2 Tracked bogeys
-Storage room with a winch and charging port
-Cargo ramp
-2 Food storages
-Living quarters with a table, clock, painting, and calendar
-8 Beds
-1 Stove
-4 Condensers
-4 Heaters
-1 Toilet
-2 Fresh water tanks
-Auxiliary coal storage
-Various equipment
-Map and airplane cam
-1 Whistle

HOW TO START

1: Turn on the condenser pumps in the condenser compartments in the sides of the cruiser
2: Turn the damper all the way up
3: Light the boiler
4: Turn the water injector on
5: Open the steam valve on the steam generator
6: Open the main steam valve on the engine
7: Once steam pressure is up, you should be good to go

OPERATION

-The "Restrict Turning" switch sets the bogeys to 45 degree turning instead of 90
-The Cruise Control is only for forwards control
-The "Crab Steering" switch reverses the rear bogey to turn in the same direction as the front bogey
-Switching the controls from the main control helm to the "Camera-view" control seat disables the controls on the main control helm, and vise versa
-The Push To Talk button is only on the control panel

AIRPLANE

-LOADING/UNLOADING:
1: Fold the airplanes wings and turn on the loading magnet (switches are inside the plane)
2: Release gantry crane
3: raise the gantry crane to 0.17
4: Turn on the connector and lower the winch
5: Once the plane is connected, release plane and raise the winch
6: Swing the gantry crane all the way over the side
7: lower the winch and turn off the connector
8: raise the winch back up and swing the gantry crane out of the way
9: unfold the airplanes wings and turn off the loading magnet

-OPERATION
-To start, simply fill the firebox with coal, light the boiler, and wait for steam pressure (topping up the coal storage before you go is recommended)
-To access the coal storage behind you, simply swivel the seat by toggling the spacebar trigger
-The pitch/roll stabilizers will NOT override the main controls, but instead pretty much just makes flying a lot easier
-The radio is set at a constant frequency of 147
-The "Invert Propeller Blades" will switch the propeller blades to the opposite angle, effectively reversing the thrust for helping with stopping in landing
-In terms of landing, good luck :)

EXTRA NOTES

-Folding up the airplanes propeller blades is recommended as for some reason, the cruiser with the plane attached will begin to freak out until the propeller breaks when you load up a world with the cruiser loaded in
-The cruiser has a Keep Active Block on it, so flying away from the cruiser won't despawn the plane when the cruiser goes out of render distance
-Yes, it can handle warm climates. A lot of the testing was done on the Meir Isles.

Basic shape and certain features inspired by the Antarctic Snow Cruiser

It also makes a fairly good ocean bed crawler

Ok thanks I will try it later

right, I think it's all working as should be now. Much more extensive testing on the plane and also fixing the whole thing needing inf electric because I had inf electric on during the last slapdash fix... heh.
Had to convert the planes set of default tanks to a small flooded compartment which seems to be working after flying, refilling and flying again, and seems to have less impact on flight than I originally expected. The tank likely wont ever refill up to absolute 100%, but that's just a stormworks problem at that point.

still not working the airplanes water tank just stops at 75% and no mater what i try it wont work

Went ahead and testing everything, nothing wrong with the air since I already installed relief valves for that the first time, but the pumps to the boiler with the filters was broken so I just replaced it with a simple pump

hoses can't transfer air so if u don't have a vent to let air out of the hose system it just clogs
Ω Compu 9 Jan @ 11:17am
the water tank likely needs an air vent

Hello, i think that the update broke the airplane because i cant refill the water tank,
it just fills a little then stops

Simply shut the boiler off and let the steam die down. Once pressure is down, turn off the condenser pumps and other electronics so you aren't wasting battery
