Socrates Class Cruiser (LSG Build Challenge)

Description
(I do realise there are two of these, but I MUST have a cover picture, or thumb picture on this beauty, and being on a different PC I could not update my previous version, and only access the workshop version I already posted, resulting in creating an entirely new workshop upload X( .)

A long range deep space exploration/science vessel, the Socrates Class cruiser is capable of extended missions due to the new Voyager Drive System, which is set at the center of the ship, rotating and is the main source of power to the large vessel. The Socrates Class has a large hanger bay often used to store cargo, as well as dedicated cargo storage at the front of the vessel. This is a non-combat vessel, and lacks major armaments to hold attacks other than minor ones, but the defences are mainly to protect the ship from the occasional meteor shows, and light raiders.

The ship is self sufficent, being forced to go on very long expeditions in deep space, far from any space ports or trade routes. The ship handels fairly decently, but lacks speed, and has a great storage capacity making the treks possible.

This particular ship of the Socrates class is called "the Logos"

(Some inspiration from a few of Video Sage's ship designs and especially hallway designs, and Also to Aaron for the incredible rotor trick!)

DO NOTE: This ship can get really laggy due to the insane ammount of spotlights. It is recommended that you press "L" if you intend to fly this thing around.

The "Voyager Drive" is attached onto a rotor, despite that I have figured out a way to make sure that it DOES NOT break off! :D Meaning, I have not yet been able to actually tear it off by flying around with it. So no need to worry about it.

FEATURES:

-Rotating command chair (Because that is very important)

-Awesome looking engine room

-Several observation decks

-five thousand gyroscopes for a decent turning speed for a vessel of its size

-Thirteen defence turrets (definetly needz moar dakka)

-Glowing Bridge (for looks)

-Enough batteries when fully charged, keep the ship flying at full speed for about 3 days

-Way too many spotlights to make certain parts of the ship glow in a very cool fashion (there are so many lights that most of the time there is a rendering problem for the ship. You can press "L" for the spotlights to come offline, and the Voyager Drive will still be illuminated)

-Large Hanger Bay

-Awesome Design

-Confrence Room

-For the Emperor

-Glowing Star Trek Nacells

-Medbay

I was being serious on this ship. I rushed to finish this ship in three days. My newer ships (which are not published yet, I aim to release them all at once, after I have ironed out the details) are much more complex, use a lot less spotlights (using interior lights, a much more stable substitute), and adopting a much more themed styles. I used more advanced functions in each and every ship I work on.

I understand what you are saying, and I want to simply point out that this ship is way past it's prime.

(one of my current ships in progress is a massive hulking vessel, which its sheer size alone causes the game to lag. It is over 700 blocks long, nearly 4/5 the size of a life size Star Destroyer)

P.S. If you want to learn how to build better ships I suggest that you google ship designs, look at ships at the workshop, and watch Last Stand Gamers, they inspired me to build much more amazing ships than this brute of a ship.

Really? I must have overlooked that. I wasn't trying to talk down on this masterpiece man. It's really really good. Goddess knows I could NEVER build something half this amazing without some kind of design to go off of. It really is superb. Despite the lag and all.

This is a prehistoric ship IMO. This was before I really knew how to build interiors. The overall design is pathetic now that I look back on it. I plan on releasing new ships that do not nearly cause as much lag, but still look amazing. I may go back to this old girl and make a major retrofit to make it far less laggy, and redesign the interiors as a whole. But I did give fair warning about the "Render is Overloaded" message.

Someone should go through and add the stuff that can now be added with mods. The inside is pretty barren. I'd do it myself but this ship makes the game unplayable due to lag. I mean my computer isn't the nicest but it is high end. There are far superior machines out there but mine is like I said. High end. I mean about as high end as a 1500 dollar laptop CAN be. But. Still. This ship would be much more amazing if it were fleshed out. Can't say I've EVER seen a ship in this game cause the little red warning in the corner "Render is overloaded."

Amazing but it lags like no other.
