Units stances

Description
This mod add 3 stances to most units (spearmen, melee cavaleries, infantry swordmen, pikemen...). These stances change the level of risk the units can take when in battle. The goals of this mod is to add more realism and flexibility to units roles.

Units stances :
  • Defensive stance : the unit fights with caution and takes less risk
  • Precise stance : the unit is trying to increase its combat level.
  • Offensive stance : The unit takes maximum risk .

Mod rules changes :
  • Minimum melee hit chance : (15% vanilla) --> 5% (DEI rule. Makes high defense melee units more resilient)
  • melee defence direction penalty coefficient rear : (0% vanilla) --> 50% (DEI rule. Makes rear fight less punishing and more realistic)
  • melee defence direction penalty coefficient_flank : (50% vanilla) --> 75% (DEI rule. Makes flank fight less punishing and more realistic)

How to uses theses stances :
  • Theses stances are not superpowers or cheats. They have some inconvenients and trade-off. So the use can only be interesting in some circumstances.
  • Use theses stances once at the same time. Their effects can cancel themselves.
  • Theses stances add some flexibility to some units. Some unuseful units can now have a better role. For example, low tier spearmen can have a better slow and block role.
  • Theses stances are in %. So some strategies can make synergies between general upgrades and stances.

Stats affected by the mod :
  • Melee defense & shield defense.
  • Melee Attack.
  • Melee & missile damage.
  • Charge and charge speed.
  • Accuracy.
  • Unit speed.

Mods compatibility :
  • This mod is designed for vanilla.
  • There is a DEI version of this mod.
  • There is a Para Bellum version of this mod.
  • Stances will not appear on Radious mods. If you want to play Units Stances with theses mods, ask me. I can make submods.
  • Don't forget to put this mod on your top mod list to have its full effect.

I will save and eventually try the mod when i free 1 slot mod ... i am actually playing using 39 mods and some troubles happens if i put just 1 more:))

Hi Skynos, thanks for your feedback. I will work on a DEI version sub mod and post it this sunday evening (France hour).

Then any feedback on balance is welcome ! Have fun playing this mod.

@Franck : Your work seems really interesting to me. I am looking forward to it as a player of DEI. When you will have realised one submod for it I will definitely test it :)
