About the model
It's been a while since this summer. 1 big holiday later and a huge workload when I came back it took me a while to get into modelling again. This project took quite the amount of effort, but as the first real skyscraper in Detroit I had to do it. Thanks to NicoCO for sponsoring this one.

Due to the amount of detail I had to divide this in 5 parts. 4 of the parts of the model use the same 2k texture. Otherwise there's the windows with a 512x512 texture. The LoD also has a 512x512 texture.

Tris, yes a lot of them 120k'ish. Yes it's a lot, yes it's a full detail art deco skyscraper. Yes, if your pc is not older than 7 years it should be able to handle that.

Importing this in C:S was a nightmare, as I had to divide it in 5 different parts, which ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up some normals and materials. (I planned on 2) So there's bount to be mistakes which I haven't seen. I'll see if can do another reimport this week.

About the building
The Buhl Building is a skyscraper and class-A office center in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. Architect Wirt C. Rowland designed the Buhl in a Neo-Gothic style with Romanesque accents. Constructed in 1925, it stands at 26 stories in the Detroit Financial District across Congress Street from the Penobscot Building and across Griswold Street from the Guardian Building, all of which were designed by Wirt C. Rowland. The Buhl Building stands on the corner of Congress St. West, and Griswold St. in Downtown Detroit. The building stands atop what used to be the Savoyard Creek near its confluence with the Detroit River. In 1836, the creek was covered and turned into a sewer. The Savoyard Club occupied the 27th floor of the Buhl Building from 1928 until its membership dwindled and the club closed in 1994.

The Buhl Building houses the headquarters of SMART and the Detroit Transportation Corporation. Hubbell, Roth & Clark, a civil engineering firm, is also based in the building.

The Citizens Bank Building in downtown Saginaw, Michigan was modeled after the Buhl Building.

The architectural sculpture on the building was designed by Corrado Parducci.

For some reason for me the RICO Settings of this building are missing, as it only appears as a Unique Building, i checked even in the steam workshop files of this building & there are no RICO settings to be found, is there a solution for this?

While I agree it´s a lot, polycount is just not very much an issue for modern graphics hardware anymore. For example https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/sacre-coeur-bd117d1bb7164bd4940af806dde08298 has about 1.5 million tris in a realtime lighting setup and I can render it in my browser on my phone at 60 fps. C:S has always been CPU limited, because of the amount of objects and simulation in the game. Besides it has no meaningfull AA and very basic lighting. In my opinion it's better to make models that can hold up in the future.

Also I looked into cutting down detail, but the base has around 80k tris. A meaningfull reduction would take a total remodel, while making use of intertwined surfaces. While that would reduce triscount, I'm not sure if it'd be more taxing on hardware.

Hope you ever decide to make a reasonabe polycount version of this building. It looks great, but 120k is downright absurd for a top down game.

Was just in this building a few weeks back. Absolutely fantastic asset, been waiting for this release lol. Hope you will take on the Guardian Building? I know it would be an animal but it would be so based. Either way, you are a fantastic creator
