If only I could make gas mask required by ideology, but as there are 2 masks, it makes it incompatible... Haven't found if there are mod that could allow to have multiple appeal options yet.

Switch over to Grimworld 40k hammer of the imperium. Has the same armor set, includes rest of Astra militarum, CE comp, and being updated.

Hey Odz, your profile is private so I cant comment there directly, but I found out why some people are reporting that helmets are costing hyperweave (page 2 or so on here someone complains about it)
its because CE has a patch in it that makes your helmets of cadia and krieg cost hyperweave. Im unsure how to patch over their patch, but for anyone with the hyperweave cost issue wants to fix it, you need to go to your CE folder and go to patches, the file with this mod name, industrial helmets xml, and remove the line that adds costList Hyperweave.

Hey fellas i have a fix for the layering issue for the masks and helmet.
You'll have to edit the ThingDefs_Headgear.xml of the mod and under the entry for the Krieg helmets you need to comment out or delete the line that reads <useWornGraphicMask>true</useWornGraphicMask> which will fix the layering issue and make the helmets render in front of the masks properly. You'll have to do this for both the regular and grenadier entries in the file
And for those looking, the default install for the workshop mods for Rimworld is under
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100 and then you'll need to find the relevant mod folder

considering its been months since the gas mask issue has been reported repeatedly and it still isnt fixed shows that it probably isnt gonna be fixed in a very long time or ever cause considering lack of developer response these mods may either be dead or on very prolonged hold
