The World War 3 has been raging for nearly 8 months. The CSTO-NATO Coalition would conquer the bulk of the northern, northeastern and eastern China in the first period of the war, yet had to halt before the width of the Yangtze River. The once-defeated People's Liberation Army (PLA) has dwelled into a monstrous armed forces of millions of soldiers, eagering to take back its homeland. The resistance movement has significantly hindered Coalition's war plan, severed Coalition logisitics.

The Coalition's general plan for the year of 2012 is to raise and train one million of collaborate Chinese forces, namely the National Republic Defense Forces (NRDF). This force would be ready and enter combat as of late 2012, when it can free Coalition forces for its next strategic offense, probably an amphibious invasion at Hainan. Active offensive operations stopped after Xi'an fall in February.

On the other hand, the People's Liberation Army was about to launch its own offensive. General Geqiang, now in charge of Huanghuai Operational Army Group, convinced the CMC that such a offensive will achieve a major success against the weak UK I Corps in Wuhan area, then the PLA would roll north to the Yellow River, to cut off major Coalition formations, namely the US V Corps, VII Corps and Polish 1st Army, from railway MSRs.

Operation Guandu was scheduled on June 22, 2012. The fate of the world will then be decided.

Major events:
*If PLA lost too much ground in Fujian area, there is a possibility that the Republic of China (Taiwan) will take part in the battle. Such an event would unlock the blocked area around Taiwan, and generate Type-B reserve brigades for the ROCA.
*Coalition play can negotiate with Vietnam for its possible participation. However, it may cause a preventive Chinese invasion on Vietnam. If major Vietnam cities fell to the Chinese, Vietnam will never agree to join the war.
*A militia unit will be unlocked on nearly every settlement the PLA liberated. This units are okay to be disbanded to provide replacements for PLA front units.
*From Turn 18, the Coalition will have the Theatre Option to initiate Operation Konev, for a strategic airborne assault. Coalition airlift capacity will raise significantly after the option is initiated for a short of time.
*Coalition's capture of Chongqing and/or Chengdu may knock China out of the war, which will result in a Coalition victory.
*PLA's capture of Lianyungang/Tanggu may knock Coalition out of the war, which will result in a PRChina victory.
*Huge amount of PRChina guerilla forces present behind Coalition lines. Most are very easy to reconstitute after elimation. The Coalition player must constantly trying to drive them out before they endanger major Coalition MSRs.
*The NRDF units are in low proficiency at the opening of the scenario. It is not recommended to deploy them into frontline battles at the beginning. However, NRDF unit may gain proficiency during COIN operations.
