Project: Synapse - City 24 V4

Description

City 24 Version 4
The original version created by Atle features an overhauled and extended slums to enhance rebel roleplay. Triumph Street is cut in half to scale better with the playerbase with lots of interconnected routes to follow. The ration distribution interior is redone, complete with a new clinic, research lab and new apartments. A new mini underground is added above the xen infested subway to promote more movement flexibility. Elements of verticality have also been added to slums to boost that same mentality. V4 hopes to deliver a more compact package with less distanced elements and offer a more closely built together experience.

Beneath the surface you will still find no sure safe haven; a sizeable xen infested subway designed with no bases to encourage surface activity and to act as a tunnel network between the rest of the map through multiple entryways. The underground is maze-like and dark, suitable as a “mini dungeon/loot gathering” zone.

Map Edit
Various alterations have been made to City 24 Version 4, namely the replacement of the Dishonored / Wolfenstein banners, flags and posters with custom pre-war Genevan / HL: A ones. This was made to reflect Project: Synapse's approach for a more lore-accurate aesthetic in line with Half-Life 2 and its subsequent prequel, Half-Life: Alyx. Commercial properties also now have separated back rooms that no longer intertwine with one another. Lastly, the "City 24 anthem" (aka the Hiking Song from Nineteen Eighty-Four) has been replaced by two fully working Breencasts that are now playable from the broadcasting room.

Additional changes will be made in the future depending on the needs of the community. If you wish to edit the map, you will have to speak to the map creator (Atle) for permission. You will not be given access to this version but rather the original should you wish to make your own edits.
