Marble GP Isle Of Man (The Isle Of Man Tourist Trophy)

The Isle of Man is a small island in the Irish sea right between Ireland and the British mainland. It is protected by the UK and is subject to the British crown, however the Isle of Man is neither part of the UK or Great Britain (yes, there is actually a difference) nor part of the European Union.
The country is known for its infamous bike race - the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. This race takes place on a 60.7 km long track (37.7 miles) and leads through the capital of Douglas where the start/finish line is, through the city of Ramsey and alongside a large part of the Isle of Man's west coast. All of which are no roads designed for proper racing but public streets that are cordoned off for the event. The non-racing road characteristics have caused massive accidents throughout the race's history with 266 people killed during the event so far from its inception in 1907 till today. Obviously this statistic has created a highly disputed reputation for the whole race ever since its launch and along the way were many drivers that have boycotted the race out of solidarity for their fallen brothers or out of sheer fear (and who can blame them).

As much as the race circuit, the marble track can bite too! A long lap leading through nature, coastlines and tight and twisty city centres. DNFs are a common thing on this track with only the most fearless and skilled marbles expected to finish the race. So watch out for any obstacles on the way because as German former bike racer Siegfried Schauzu said about the race: "Missing the racing line by ten centimetres can send you to the hereafter."

Lap time is about 4:30 - 5:00 minutes.
