Description
Conrail GG1 #4800

Background
#4800 is the prototype of the GG1-class electric locomotive. Built in 1934, it competed against the R1 prototype from Westinghouse. General Electric's GG1 class proved to be the better locomotive, and 139 would be built for the Pennsylvania Railroad. #4800 would be kept in service by PRR, which is how it ended up in the fleet of Penn Central and later Conrail. Out of all of Conrail's GG1s, #4800 was the only to be given the Conrail Blue paint scheme. It was sold to a museum in 1979 and was dedicated at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in 1982, where it remains. #4800 can be differentiated from other GG1s as it is riveted together, while all other GG1s are welded.

This locomotive is compatible with all ESS-2 and WABSIM equipped trains and rolling stock

Startup
Head into the lead cab (the one with the circuit breakers on the back wall) Flip the Battery Isolation Relay along with the Systems and Traction Motors switches. Next to the engineer's seat, turn on the Brake Lead/Trail key and the Automatic Brakes Cut-In key. If you plan on using the opposite cab you can head there now. Turn on the Cab Setup key and press the Reverser Handle In button. Raise one of the pantographs with the controller next to the window and you're good to go.
Master/Slave Operations
All locomotives in master/slave operations must be equipped with ESS-2. They also need to be connected with electrical cables, of which there are two located in the cab. The cables need to be anchored to the red cable anchors located on the plows at each end of the locomotive. If the locomotive is a master... -Complete startup checklist as normal -On the rear wall in the leading cab, configure which cab will be forward. If the leading cab is forward flip the Current Cab Forward switch, and if the opposite cab is forward flip the Opposite Cab Forward switch. If the locomotive is a slave... Complete the startup checklist as normal, except: -Turn off the Brake Lead/Trail and Automatic Brake Cut-In keys -Turn off the button labelled Insert Reverser Handle -Flip the long/short hood switches on the cab wall as described above -Make sure all brakes are released!

Will there ever be a PRR Version. And Can you please add a horn, a regular foghorn would actually work really well on this locomotive. Overall one of my favorite locomotives on the workshop, bit of a pain to start and use in Multiple unit operation though.
