Description
A somewhat handcrafted navmesh for Subglacies

The creators of the maps can add my created navmeshes to their map if, and whenever they want.

Q/A

What is a nav mesh?
-Nav meshes are groups of squares placed across the map that contain information that nexbots use to see the map

in order for any and all nextbots to work, you actually need to have a navmesh; you can create one by putting nav_generate into your console on any map, but this may take several minutes or even sometimes hours to fully generate depending on the size and complexity of the map.


Why would I want to install this, instead of doing nav_generate in console?

-more advanced/ accurate mesh, meaning better navigation for nextbots; they're less likely to get stuck; but still possible :( .

-more optimized mesh than nav_generate.

-guess who support!

-increases the amount of hiding spots and encounter points, this improves nextbots like Gargitron.

-accommodation for nextbots separate from the 'png chasers', e.g 'crouching attribute' nodes and parkour

-nav meshes in places where the nav_generate command fails to create them such as out of bounds, pits and many other areas.

-downloading this will save the nav mesh, instead of having to recreate it every time you load a new game (nav_save for anyone who wants to save a nav_generated nav mesh, this saves the nav file to the garrysmod maps folder), and it takes way less time to download this than to generate a new mesh.

-even scarier and more effective nextbots.


Feel free to comment if you find any bug/ glitches, these are some I am aware of:

- Some nextbots can't use the ladders and the ones that can, like the gman from DrGBase, still have trouble using the indoor ladders; this is because the exit point of the ladder is behind the top rather than forward - map design, can't change it :(.

- Nextbots can't use the elevator and nearly all nextbots will not know the current position of the elevator and try to walk where it used to be; I have tried to counteract this by using the trasient attribute ( They appear as dashed outlines, as seen in picture 2 on the floor, and in picture 3 on top of the elevator ), trasient attributes tell the nextbots that the area may become blocked or can no longer be used, such as an invisible wall spawning mid round or -in this case- an elevator moving;
most bots don't have the code to recognize these more advanced attributes, however some really advanced nextbots do, like the player bots from counter-strike or TF2, but i suppose it doesn't hurt to add the attributes just in case a nextbot is used which does have the code to understand them.
