Vehicle information

1949 GM PD 4151 “Silversides” Greyhound Bus.
Prop included.
Standard bus version.
Now with RHD! Courtesy of Blue Thunder!

The first of many, many Mid-century (give or take a few years) vehicles I have been working on slowly, even before the DLC was announced, as I slowly tackle Blender.

Huge thanks, gratitude and shout out to the lovely, amazing @Jakcsh for taking time out from his already very busy schedule to give me tips and tricks to make this bus come to life. He did a amazing job with the texture and seeing this in game is really quite something for me. Never thought I would ever be able to do anything like this! But here it is!

Follow Jaksch if you aren't already. He deserves the world. Give him all your money ;) Im serious.

Stay Tuned for more. I think you'll like whats coming.

I LOVE the bus but I realized you can't change its color in-game when assigning it to a line :(

Is there any chance you will make an RHD version?

Atm @Jakcsh is making the textures and I am eternally grateful for him, I love the way it looks. But I understand concerns on realism and fitting in with other assets. You are more than welcome to re texture if you'd like. But thats something you would have to ask Jaksch. When it comes to texturing and UV editing I can assure you I am absolute dog doo, I just can't figure it out. I've tried many times creating my own but it just gets worse. I'm just better at modeling right now. The more I practice the less tris I get. I'm just more adept towards the 3d space. So bear with me!

@LazyBot I'd take the advice @Evangeline provided to heart. IMO they are one of the top asset creators here.

Stunning, but the tris count seems VERY high for an individual vehicle where a city may have a large number of them in the city. I applaud your work. I tend to play my cities from the 1920s to 1950s so this would be ideal, but given the but networks I have, having 200K in buses running in the cities isn't feasible for me. I hope you are not offended at the criticism because I absolutely love what you are doing. With a limited laptop I have to keep tris down so sadly I won't be able to use this. When I occasionally have a dream where CS features, I am sure it will feature in that!

This is a pretty cool asset, but in the future i'd strongly advice to make/draw the texture yourself in Photoshop rather than use cut up photo's so it looks more consistent with other cars on the workshop.

A custom LOD and LOD texture would also be appreciated since it prevents the LOD from flashing when turning and turning into a weird mess of colors at range.

Love this, this is the era I try to stick to in my city :)
