Mechanitors can wear hats too!

Description
Mechanitor headsets and arrays don't allow them to wear hats, even though they are small equipment. I decided to solve this and be sleep deprived tomorrow. I used the almost abanoned eyewear layer for the small mechanitor headgear. This means they can't be used with blindfolds. A small price for greatness.

I also specified that mechanitors helmets cover the eyewear layer too, this is to avoid stacking different mechanoids headgears and messing with the balance.



Airwire headset, Array headset and Integrator headset now only cover the eyes bodyparts and use the eyeWear layer. They also now render under hats (most of the time)

Mechcommander helmet and Mechlord helmets now use the eyeWear layer too. This is only to avoid stacking mechanitor headsets and helmets together.

Only in 1.4: Becuase of vanilla limitations, I added a button that shows up on your mechanitor when wearing a headset. It allows you to switch the headset to be on front or back of the pawn. On front it will maintain hair but will be drawn on top of the hats. On back it will be drawn under the hat, but if no hat is wore it will make hair dissapear. Switch as many times as you would like.

1.5: Vanilla apparel draw layers now support multilayered apparel without weird graphics. Vanilla Expanded Framework is no longer required for 1.5.



An error appears on startup. Something about a label being wrong?

It is a false positive error that appears from Vanilla Expanded Framework. It is harmless and will not affect your game in any way. It is safe to ignore.

Can you add this mid savegame?

I tested this mod using my personal savegame and I had no problems. Should work fine for you too.

Updated: Vanilla apparel draw layers now support multilayered apparel without weird graphics. Vanilla Expanded Framework is no longer required for 1.5 and there are no more unecessary gizmos for mechanitor's headsets.

can you add a mod-setting to remove the Switch gizmo? I play on steamdeck and screen space is limited

The purpose is because RimWorld hat drawing order is messy and there is no way to tell the game "Draw this above hair but under the hat layer". Therefore I created an alter def that you can switch on the go. One def will be drawn under hats, but also under hair, and the other def will be drawn on top of hair, but also on top of hats. Switching costs nothing. It is just an aesthetic thing.

Question, What is the purpose of the apparel_alters defs? I think that may be the cause of the double recipes, and I've been able to patch items directly without them
