Description

The Rome II Total Realism team is happy to announce, in the spirit of open-source development, the R2TR Toolkit - our set of in-development tools that we are using to implement new features into Rome 2 and assisting with development.

Currently included in the toolkit is a small but powerful and expandable set of features and tools:

*Historical event messages
*Debug logging (including spitting out positional information, to help with startpos development)
*Settings file parser
*Forced march UI button removal (can be easily disabled)
*A number of utility functions to assist with scripting development

To use the tools, you can simple enable them in the mod manager. Please note that these tools are not for players - they are designed for other modders, and do not include any content other than testing. The historical messages, for example, only include a few test events. Any content is up to the mods to add - the toolkit serves simply as a basis for these features.

The tools should work with any mod that doesn't replace the scripting.lua file. Upon starting a new campaign, a text file named R2TR_settings.txt will appear in your root directory folder. To enable logging, you can set the variable in there named "debugLevel" to any value above 0 - set it to 3 to enable all logging including the character positional data. Please note that although the logging is easily expandable to include more detail, the toolkit currently only logs a small fraction of in-game occurrences. However, adding further logging is easy.

After starting a new game or loading a save, all the logging will be included in a file named R2TR_log.txt.

Take aware of any licenses included at the top of our scripting files! We have tried to make them as free as possible, but without allowing plagiarism.

Please note that the set of tools is far from completion and our knowledge of Rome 2's scripting is limited. The toolkit will be continually updated as work on R2TR continues. Please report any bugs or give feature requests!

Further information and documentation on how to use the currently included features will be released at a later date.

Any materials without explicit licenses, having been released by the R2TR team, may be used by others for their own modifications provided that proper credit is given to R2TR.

Please follow us at our forums to find news and information about the scripting toolkit and other mods in the R2TR family, including our total overhaul.

Is there a beginner's guide to this tool? How do you open it? Which files get modified?

and how are they moving around without military access? if they are your ally they have it
justinsane11 9 Aug, 2017 @ 4:17pm
you don't want your allies to be able to move through your lands because it looks messy? i wish they could do that to you - yeah we will be your ally but because we don't like how the game looks when you move your character you cannot move through here

One more thing - is there any way to deny military access to allies? AIs moving around without military access...it looks so bad and makes game messy. It seems access comes with military ally.

To stop AI malfunction, I think I should apply that change only to the player.

Hi, I'm new modder and looking into your script files, in order to remove replenishment / recruitment capability from forces in certain stances. I want forces only recruit and replenish in settlement / dock / fortification.

Do you have any idea about how? I want to deactivate replenishment and recruitment in certain condition(stances).

Hi! In DEI forced march was changed to patroling. Is it possible to restore forced march saving patroling? There is ability fire_volley. Does it work and why not? Is it possible to add parts of Attila map not exploited in Rome 2? Thanks.
