2022 HeroForge Ultimate Collection: BLACKLACE EDITION

Description
If you like what you see and wish to tip me, send me a PM and I'll give you an email to throw me a HeroForge gift card. Sorry for the extra step but a) no one has used my patreon and b) the link freaks Steam out every time I update. Just not worth the hassle.

Please take a moment to like, favorite and/or share this mod to make it easier for others to find. And please consider staying subscribed to both the mod and this thread, so you don't miss any future additions. This mod will be the home for ALL future Hero Forge-based figures I release so the only way you'll know if something new comes out is to subscribe to thread to receive notification of updates in the comments.

What makes this the "ultimate" Hero Forge collection? For starters, 2022 isn't a date, it's a figure count! Just kidding. There aren't 2022 figures... it's more like 2200! And counting.

You get over 1500 "finished" figures. Some have been culled from my favorites across other workshops, particularly my own Pulp and Wild West and MadMark's Three Musketeers, Robin Hood, Samurai, and American Revolution figures. But others have never before been seen. From Conan to Camelot to Flash Gordon to James Bond to Army of Darkness to Comics, this mod is chock full of genres, including some good old fashioned AD&D / 5E / Pathfinder stuff for the traditional crowd (including some of the best of the Hero Forge official monthly packs).

Worried about organization? Don't be. Thanks to a modified version of xStartoy & Groule's tool, type any tag from the notebook, and your very own copy of the Necronomicon Ex Mortis will spit out the right figures, ready for you to unlock and use as you see fit. You can find figures by name, collection, or genre.

But wait, there's more! You get over 500 additional "base" figures and nearly 1000 parts and accessories, all easily organized and searchable courtesy of a modified version of Spectrumw's directory tool. Need a Kobold but want him to have a sword instead of a spear? Presto-changeo, no problem, just grab one of the Kobold bases, grab a loose sword from the parts directory, and you've got a brand new figure, tailored to exactly what you wanted.

That's the beauty of BLACKLACE, a mnemonic for a simple set of steps to make about any figure you can imagine. With the number of bases and interchangeable parts, you can literally make millions of figures. And with nearly 1000 parts and accessories, you can buy your own HeroForge figures in "base" settings and fix them in post. Can't decide if your figure should have a beard or a goatee? Why decide? Buy a clean shaven figure and add each option, then use create states to quickly give your creation exactly the right facial hair for that day.

How is this possible? Just a little magic in Blender and Unity. In fact, because I couldn't help myself, you'll get some additional goodies like horses and swords made of pure fire or herforge jetpacks and welding torches with particle effect options.

And just because I like to have things in one place, you'll also get over 100 of my animated Boot Hill figures and even some complete odds and ends like a few non-Hero Forge figures that blend in alright with their style.

Want to be a contributor? Provide 50+ approved figures and you can be added to BLACKLACE with contributor status. For now, that's Mark as I know I've used at least that many of his (with permission).

Want credit for something less than 50 figures? Absolutely! Just PM me and let me know which figures are yours (or even just that your figures were included) and I'll add a credit listing here.

Thanks to:
Spectrumw, xStartoy, and Groule, without whose base code, this project couldn't have happened

MrStump because the Memory Bag 2.0 is the root of all of these efforts, I suspect. It's certainly helped me learn to code in Lua.

Baryonyx for - The raptors, the Simcas, the Citroens, the army truck and the Jeep

DM Tim for the recent sci-fi figures.

DrakEmono for the Lizardmen

Archaeopteryx for the Romans/Ancients

Mr Always Wants to Be Hunted for some random figures and parts

Hughtotim for Civilians

Zeuk for Star Trek/Sci Fi Figures

Sujet for Aliens

Bunions for Vikings and a badger. "Badgers?! We don't need no stinkin' badgers!" Except we did. :)

Saught for non-Hero Forge assets

Plat for the Large Semicircle Table

All those I've no doubt missed. No slights were intended, I simply collected figures for a long time without tracking from where. PM me and we'll get the credits fixed accordingly.

@Pajamas, the Neconomicon was replaced when the tools were updated, but concept is the same and is spelled out in the screen shots above (scroll past the example figures). You basically choose a base from the tool on the left, then choose accessories from the tool in the middle (the Trading Post/Used Parts Station) and connect the parts to the base using the in-TTS tools as spelled out in the screen shots above.

How can I use just the necronomicon to create my own new collection?

For anyone reading this that wanted "the other tutorial", no that one won't be posted as HeroForge has already given its creator a hard time. But it's on You Tube and not that hard to find. It's technically a tutorial on how to animate models using mixamo for the rigging. There are other similar tutorials, but you'll know you have the right one if you see references to "DMCA Forge."

Sure, that's easy enough. Download your hero forge figure. Open up a table in TTS. Click Objects, Components, Custom, Asset Bundle. Left click to place the little white cube on the table (you can do this more than once if importing multiple files). Right click to tell it you're done. A window pops up titled "Custom Assetbundle". In the "Main" line, click th folder icon and navigate to wherever you downloaded your figure. Choose a .unity3d file (your download will either come as this or you may have to unzip the download first). Choose cloud (if sharing) or local (if not sharing on TTS). Under type, change from generic to figure (not required but will make it easier to manipulate the figure without it falling over). Click import. Your figure will now be on your table.

i mean just to get import heroforge models, no 3rd party changes
Old School Oni  [author] 3 Feb @ 7:18pm
sorry, @tostito man. Can't spell tonight.
Old School Oni  [author] 3 Feb @ 7:17pm
@tosito man, do you mean that literally (like a beginner's tutorial to import a default hero forge model or other 3d asset) or do you mean a tutorial about how to extract the fiels from the bundle put it through blender and unity to make changes, and import a new Blacklace base?
Tostito Man 3 Feb @ 1:38pm
could you link a tutorial on how to import hf models into tts

Blacklace, with an L not Blackface with an F. It's an acronym for the system of making figures from the parts. See the 24th screen shot above. Base, Lock, Accessories, etc.

this is a great mod but why is it called "blackface edition?"
