base orbit remote control BORC

Description
edit: not possible to copy, I think because of 2 cracked rotors, but ship still working fine

A device that creates a G-tunnel AROUND a structure acting as an artifical orbit for ships or satellites.
You can let your small ships automatically patrol around your big ships or stations !!
You can copy the whole ship, although it doesn´t look like, it´s made of one piece.

The orbit distance can be changed from 1m next to the station up to 140 m away from the outer wall, it´s not a one-click but quite comfortable. And of course you can change spinning direction anytimy by one-click in K-menue ("Round&Round" => reverse).

Trivia;
I started only with the raw device, what is indeed just a chain (all 0 to both directions) bended to a circle attached with G-generators, some fine tuning and patience and thats it. But it looked so much like stone henge that I had to build a temple out of it.
So I present; the first space church of the flying spaghetti monster (what is in my opinion the only suiteble "religion" that should be mentioned in a computer game => http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster )
It has also an altar where you can sacrifice blocks with help from the priest of
charge ASRA (automatic sacrifice robot arm).
The satellite is just an example, I stopped building because my laptop is crap and runs hot after an hour on this map :).

How to use:

"activate artifical orbit" => toggles all necessary G-gens for orbit
If you want to change sometthing : the groups are selfexplanatory, out, in, top, bottom, round&round

ASRA (automatic sacrifice robot arm) => place a block or something not larger than one big block on the red square in front of the ASRA (there is already one).

In menue are three points for the arm, named :
"holy fire"
"(1) reverse => grab offering"
"(2) reverse => sacrifice"
"(3) reverse => reset after use"

Just reverse each point one by one after activating "holy fire":
(1) arm comes down and picks up block
(2) arm turns around, extends and presses the block against the "holy fire"
(3) arm goes back to the original position, you can place a new block and sacrifice again with (1), (2), (3)

TIPS:
- in case of performance problems turn off all lights, that helped me.

- I meet often people online that didn´t know the shortcut for the physics screen,
so it´s "shift+alt+F12" without it´s hard to change the orbit.

thanks for reading all this and have fun trying out.

Nice, I remember accidently flying this into an asteroid and since it's made of so many separate points, the ship warped, wiggled, and shifted and it had a very realistic sense to it responding to the crash. Never had that experience sense and I'm glad to hear this ship still works.

just started to play again after about half a year. Will try it out and give you a note.

This was my first subscribed item... Now I have over 20 pages of workshop items. Does this still work? I liked it a lot but im trying to remove pages of workshop items.

Quick update on the pistons : I wont use them.
Most of the time they work just fine, but just sometimes they shatter and make you need to rebuild 1/4 of the ship (I had to make it a ship to make it transportable).

So my next test will be around merges and assembling on the spot, to keep it both deployable in ennemy territory (to make a blocus of sort) and recuperable (turn off the merges, pack it back, tract it with a ship)

Well for now it is portable only because it has a compact size, so a big ship could carry it to deliver it.

But yes, it could be foldable, I will have to see how it goes with pistons.

I cant make an export for now, but when I do I will post the link here :)

would like to see that , I was thinking of a portable version too, foldable for example..

I'm working on my own version, I made it portable with only 18 grav generators total (counting the ones to keep them far/close and up/down) and a radius of approximatly 150 meters.

Still working on it, will certainly make a bigger version (with its size it can only sustain small ships) and a 8 loop (with 2 stations), that could be fun !)

Wow. You created THE temple of gravity. Well F^@king done. Amazing.

I'm sure this will lead to many break throughs of find our sacred diety once we come into contact with planetoids!
